It has also enabled the government to disburse nearly RM3 billion to be given directly to the people this year,” Najib said when unveiling the ETP and GTP 2011 Annual Report.

1Malaysia E-mailsRM50 million contract was awarded to a company called Tricubes Bhd to run the 1Malaysia e-mail project

Criticism by the public and Pakatan Rakyat on the sheer waste of money & this project was to help Tricubes (a crony company) that previously was in financial difficulty.

Najib had to backtrack to say this was a private sector initiative and that acceptance of the email accounts was voluntary.

Protests has been organised against the project on Facebook and parodied on SEVERAL websites worldwide.

The Implications of 1Malaysia

YAB Dato Sri Najib Tun Razak (Prime Minister):

“1Malaysia is a concept to foster unity amongst the multi-ethnic rakyat of Malaysia. 1Malaysia values and respects the ethnic identities of each community in Malaysia, and proudly regards them as an asset or advantage.”

Page 22: 1 Malaysia Concept

Tun Mahathir (4th Prime Minister) :A year after the concept's introduction, Mahathir Mohammad reportedly said he "still doesn't understand (masih tidak faham)" the concept.

“The 1Malaysia slogan must be explained in detail to the people of various races living in the country, to provide a holistic understanding of the concept. “

Page 23: 1 Malaysia Concept

Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek (President of MCA) :

“It is a concept for all Malaysian to think as Malaysians. You can’t to deny your own race but, this is a stepping stone to reduce ethnic identity.”

Page 24: 1 Malaysia Concept

Waytha Moorthy Ponnusamy (Leader of the HINDRAF campaign) :

“It is equality only in words. He (Najib) talks about 1Malaysia but did not define what the concept is. It is a joke. True 1Malaysia should be the country treats the citizens with more respect. That is more important.”

Page 25: 1 Malaysia Concept

Lim Kit Siang (prominent leader of DAP):

“Najib’s 1Malaysia policy in past three years has borne bitter and even poisonous fruits worsening racial polarization and producing more heinous lies like the recent May 13 falsehoods to undermine national unity.”

Page 26: 1 Malaysia Concept

Oh Kah Beng (Head of Lotus Cars Malaysia, Former Motor GPA National Ace Racer):

“I think that 1Malaysia is to achieve national goal together.”

parliament

Page 32: 1 Malaysia Concept

- Anwar claimed that “One Israel” concept was also APCO's client and project

- This angered the sensitivities of the Muslims in the country as the Muslim government portrayed itself a friend of Palestinians.

- They wanted Najib to terminate the contract with the company.

-Instead, Najib signed a fresh contract with APCO worth hundreds of million.

Page 33: 1 Malaysia Concept

-However, the government and APCO denied their Anwar's claimed and allegations.

-Anwar was later censured from the parliament due to the remark he made.
