Pencils

Different types of pencil are used for drawing lighter and darker lines

Drawings are usually done with a 2H pencil

Drawings

Drawings give enough information to allow an object to be made

Drawings include measurements

Sketches are also used to give information on a drawing sheet

Scales Scales reduce or enlarge the measurements

evenly, so that the proportions of the object stay the same

Full size measurements are written on the drawing

The scale is also written as a ratio on the drawing

Orthographic projection

A 2D presentation of a 3D object

Shows all the views of an object

Each view is related to the others

Elevations, plans and end views are included in orthographic drawings
