THE BIGGEST AND THE MOST EXPENSIVE TREASURE OF EVERY NATION IS THE LANGUAGE, ITS LIVING HIDING PLACE OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT, ITS TREASURE, IN WHICH THE PEOPLE PUT THE OLD LIFE AND THE HOPES

FOREIGN LANGUAGES ARE IMPORTANT MEANS OF COMMUNICATION AMONG NATIONS. THEY CONTRIBUTE INTO COMMUCATION AMONG PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, PROVIDES SUCH LEVEL OF CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT, WHICH GIVES THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO ORIENT AND FEEL THEMSELVES COMFORTABLE IN THE COUNTRY, WHICH LANGUAGE THEY STUDY. THAT’S WHY THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND A NATIVE SPEAKER DEPENDS NOT ONLY ON THE PERFECT KNOWLEDGE OF VOCABULARY AND GRAMMAR BUT ON THE SPECIAL SKILLS TO UNDERSTAND THE NORMS OF CULTURE AND COMMUNICATIVE BEHAVIOUR IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS.

AUTHENTIC -MADE OR DONE IN THE TRADITIONAL OR ORIGINAL WAY, OR IN A WAY THAT FAITHFULLY RESEMBLES AN ORIGINALAuthentic materials are resources created for native speakers of the target language.Authentic materials   can include:

Listening: TV shows, radio, commercials, news broadcasts, documentaries, movies, phone messages, etc.

Visual: photographs, art works, signs with symbols, postcards, picture books, etc.

Printed: 

Restaurant menus, newspaper articles, bulletin board advertisements, company websites, coupons, sales catalogues, travel brochures, maps, telephone books, signs, blogs, movie posters, food labels, etc.

USING CURRENT EVENTS FOR LISTENING COMPREHENSION Don’t attempt to use an audio clip

that’s longer than 1 minute.  Plan great comprehension

questions.  Stay organized. 

FICTION MATERIALS Comics and cartoons

Books and filmsuse subtitles in the native language for

the first half of the film, allowing students to get used to the actors’ voices and the words in the film, before switching and putting the subtitles in the target language for the rest of the film

Weather Report: There Is a Blizzard on the Way! summarizes key points in the weather report teaches 2-3 vocabulary related to the weather conditionMenus: Order Your Favorite Dish Give students a worksheet where they can write down what they orderat each station.
