                   1ST YEAR ACTIVITIES

A2: A research on teachers, students and parents as initial evaluation of the level of health and well-being of the members of our school community (September 2015).

The conclusions led to 3 main problems

1. Students are tired when they come to school2. A large percentage of students sleep in front of some kind of screen3. Teachers and parents do not systematically exercise due to family commitments.

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES :                

A3 : School Presentation (September 2014): digital presentation of our school by older students for the purpose of communicating with the students of the other schools and getting acquainted with their own schools.  

A4: Erasmus Corner (October 2015): creation of Erasmus corner in central point at the entrance of our school by students.

A5: Logo Competition (October 2015): All students of the school had to think about the program logo and present it in the form of a picture.

ACTIONS AFTER THE FIRST VISIT TO THE SPANISH SCHOOL

  The staff of our school, the students and their parents were informed about the work of the meeting, (November 2015)

The School Counselor was informed (November 2015)

A relevant article was posted on the school website as well as on the public website at wordpress (November 2015) Article Published in two local newspapers of the city (“Haidari Today" and "247 press")

 PLANNED ACTIVITIES (NOVEMBER 2015-JANUARY 2016)

 A12: How do children relax? Creating a shield with pictures ( November 2015)

A13: Sport activities children practice, graph, pictures, text ( December 2015) All the students of our school painted or wrote about the sport activities they are involved in and presented them with a chart.

Acquaintance with the sports of the Olympic Games: Students of lower classes of School, got acquainted with the Olympic sports .

A 14: Starting a fruit day at school. Make a common graph of achievement ( January 2016):  The aim of this activity was to enforce the habit of eating fruit. A poster was created by students referring to the school’s favorite fruit and another one referring to the fruit of the day. Monday was defined as the Day of the fruit of our school .  

Healthy eating habits,(January 2016): "A" grade students learned how to choose healthy foods for their meals and they created the pyramid of the Mediterranean diet.

 Healthy breakfast for energy and well-being (January 2016) students of 6th grade divided in groups brought the appropriate foods and prepared a fun and healthy breakfast in the classroom all together.

Creating 4 Posters (January 2016) to present the objectives of program in three areas: nutrition, exercising, and mental health.

A23: Creating a document about own diet (February 2016): Mini book about traditional recipes. Students recorded traditional recipes (LTTA Athens)

 Walking in the Poikilon Mountain and Diomidio Botanical Garden, (January-May)

 Tales backwards (February 2016): Theatrical performances on the emotions and mental health of the students of the 2nd grade.

The feast of vegetables (February 2016): The celebration of vegetables was organized with the cooperation between parents and teachers .   Poster for the day of vegetables (February 2016): To promote vegetable consumption, was created by the students and placed in various parts of the school.

The suitcases of emotions (March 2016): made by our students (3rd and 4th grade) inspired by monternist Greek painter Alexis Akrithakis .

Internet addiction and ways to address it (March 2016), Seminar for parents, teachers and students with the aid of clinical psychologist Mr. Nikos Papastergiou and the journalist Mr. Panagiotis Makridis.

ACTIVITIES FOLLOWED THE LTTA IN GALWAY (May 16-June 2016)

A6: mental health Activity by school teachers (June 2016) "The development of empathy in schools" Laboratory for empathy and compassion with the support and coordination of the dependency prevention centre "Arixis", similar to what we witnessed in Ireland.

A7: Mental health Activity with students (June 2016) "Emotion Recognition": Through painting and theatrical game students of lower classes learned to acknowledge their feelings.

A8: Activity for teachers’ physical exercise (June 2016)  "Introduction to Yoga", relaxation exercises and strengthening at the Hall of our school with teachers and their children with the assistance of B. Vlassi, P.E. teacher.

 A9: Physical exercise with students: exercises for relaxation and mindfulness, (May 2016) Mindful Movements , 6th grade A10: Activity with the teachers of our school (June 2016) Experiential workshop manufacturing therapeutic facial-body cream from herbs

A11: Activity with students "Mama Bia". (May 2016) Game with cards. The students of the 5th and 6th grade played the game that was given by students of Ireland associated with the nutritional value of food .

 My book of emotions, My book of feeling (May 2016) Students of 5th grade created the book of emotions.

The poems of emotions (June 2016) Students of 5th grade using their senses created their own poems of emotions.

Support system (June 2016) children of 5th grade filled in a flyer with concentric circles of people, friends or relatives, who feel close to them as supporters in difficult times

THE LAST 1st YEAR PLANNED ACTIVITIES

A21: the wheel of life, life Work wheel (May 2016): Students of 4th, 5th and 6th grade filled the wheel of life (of the day) with the activities of a difficult day and the results were presented and discussed with students to improve their day-to-day program.    A22: Book with traditional games (May 2016): The three Greek traditional games: The seven stone game, The King and The Witch recorded in a specific form and sent to the coordinating school A23: The healthy menu of the day (May 2016) 3rd grade students recorded the foods consumed the previous day. Then offered healthy choices and recorded the healthy menu for the day.

COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES (MAY 16-JUNE 2016)

Healthy snack to school (May 2016) Students of 3rd grade discussed and recorded in groups the snack they usually get to school. They studied their options and resulted in correct guesses, which they painted creating impressive posters.

Sport through the centuries (May 2016) 5th and 6th grade students having studied the history of sports, created team posters with their favorite athletes and sports from antiquity until today and the posted them on the school premises.

 4-day Athletics: (June 2016) . Students of all grades took part in 4 day athletics under the custody of school gymnasts competing in races 50, 150 and 300 m and the "ball".

ACTIONS FOR DISSEMINATION

A. UPDATES - PUBLISHES We believe that the right information and dissemination of the project helps us significantly in the achievement of its objectives. For this reason: 1. We prepared a ppt presentation informing

all students, teachers, parents, but also our region's representatives and the school counselor of our region about the content, the purposes and the objectives of our project.

2. We worked on our project’s logo 3. We created our project’s posters4. We organized the erasmus corner in our

school to disseminate the project’s outcome

5. Every time we returned from a visit to another school (Barcelona, Galway) we organized meetings to inform our colleagues, parents and students about the school we visited and the course of business .                    6. We contacted personally with the Mayor of the city to inform him and seek his support and cooperation .

7. Along with the teachers who visited us , we submitted the Manifesto of the program and the posters, to the mayor and School Counselor .

8. We posted our project posters at the Town Hall, the offices of primary education and many other public places of our city schools, nursery schools, swimming pool, Sports Centre.

9. We published articles in two local newspapers of the city (“Haidari Today" and "247 press") about a. our project (manifesto-posters) b. our visit in Barcelona c. our visit in Galway

B. INVESTIGATIONS-EVALUATIONS 13. We organized an initial survey, for

students, teachers and parents, to determine the level of health and well-being of the members of our school community.

 14. An evaluation form of the work on both

LTTA meetings was completed by all participating teachers, which in both cases shows clearly the success of the project that weeks in all sectors.

                                                          15. Three evaluation forms were completed

for each of the three seminars that we organized at our school for the teachers of our school at the end of the first year. The results also indicate the success of the program and the teachers ' desire for taking part in similar seminars the next school year. 16. An evaluation form (Google forms) was completed by the teachers of our school to assess the success of the first year of the program.

CONCLUSION

  The activities of the first year, which were pre-planned, but also those organized at the two meetings, LTTA 1st at our school and 2nd in the school of Ireland, were implemented fully and successfully without any problem whatsoever, instead satisfied our students, teachers and parents of our school community and achieved the goals we had set at the beginning.Now we are ready for the second year and the successful ending of our project!
