Can someone who has gone through bankruptcy recently give me some advice?

I'm meeting with an attorney this week but in the mean time. HOw much is a bankrruptcy? How are you supposed to pay for it? What is the real story about not necessarily maxing out cards but using them more than usual ? Please email me or answer here. Thanks!
