Burdick-Thorne STring QuarTeTAs Artists in Residence (AIR) with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Julia Neckermann, Lisa A. Williams, Grace Byrd and Igor Cetkovic make up KSO’s resident Burdick-Thorne String Quartet (BTSQ). These musicians hold principal positions in the orchestra, and perform as a quartet to great acclaim throughout Michigan, including recitals in Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Holland, and repeat engagements on Mackinac Island. They also perform frequently as ambassadors and teaching artists in KSO community and education presentations. The BTSQ is named in honor and memory of Mary Burdick Thorne and James Thorne, long-time KSO supporters and lovers of music.
