William Heikkinen speaks out about his volunteering experience at the
Robert L. Frost Elementary School
William Heikkinen, a star football player for the Brown Bears at Brown University, has spoken out
about his timevolunteering at the Robert L. Frost Elementary School in Lawrence. The player
stated that the experience was a positive one for all involved, allowing him to give back to the
community.
William Heikkinen, a star football player for the Brown Bears at Brown University, has spoken out
about his timevolunteering at the Robert L. Frost Elementary School in Lawrence. The player began
his stint as a volunteer for the school during his time at Andover High School, before moving on to
Brown University to pursue his studies and develop his skills and experience as a professional football
player. Along with his friends and classmates, Heikkinen was involved with the tutoring and
mentoring of young students at the school, helping struggling children reach their academic
potential.
The role of William and his friends in the community services in Andover Frost Elementary School
was significant – the elementary teachers at the institution not only noted a positive impact on the
children’s academic achievements, but also reported that the young students benefited form a boost
in self-esteem and confidence as a result of being mentored by William Heikkinen and his fellow high
school students.
In addition to this feedback from the elementary school teachers, William also received a letter of
commendation from the school principal, acknowledging him for the contributions made to the
elementarystudents, the teachers and to the school as a whole. This is just one of the many
instances where Heikkinen has shown himself to be a supporter of his local community and has
demonstrated his willingness to give back to those that have assisted him in his academic and
football career.
“It was a really rewardingexperience to be able to do something for the community and make a real
differenceto young students’ lives,” commented William Heikkinen, “It is something that I know all of
us who volunteered will remember for a long time as a positiveexperience for all involved.”
In addition to the positive role of William and his friends in the community services in Andover Frost
Elementary School, the football player has won a lot of support in the local area thanks to his skills
which led his high school football team, the Andover Golden Warriors, to victory many times.
Heikkinen was so successful that he was even awarded the title of Student Athlete of the Month by
the local Andover paper the Eagle Tribune.
As well as spending his time serving the community and demonstrating his skills on the football field,
William Heikkinen was also a star student, consistently making the Honor Roll throughout his time at
Andover High and being awarded the Chemistry and Survey of Film Underclassmen award.

William is currently a freshman at Brown University and a wide receiver for Brown Bears football
team sporting number 88. A lover of all things sport, William has received many awards and
recognitions including being named Student Athlete of the Month by the Eagle Tribune and First
Team All-State by the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald. William Heikkinen closed his high school
football career with 126 catches for 1960 yards for his team the Golden Warriors in Andover, and
was lettered in football for 3 years as well as in track and field. William has numerous other
achievements under his belt including making Honor Roll every term, volunteering at a local
Massachusetts elementary school and being Winner of the Chemistry and Survey of Film
