What factors can affect theirperformance?
The job requirements of referees haveexpanded tremendously in recent years.
If the right decisions are to be made, whatwe need are not 'walking rule books', butrather individuals with leadership skills
and the keen eyes and ears of an expert,people who can put themselves intogame situations and make appropriate
decisions.

Summary
Good referees need to be flexible, act in theproper manner, concentrate, be committed
and
exude authority without being power mad
You must have personal charisma, technicalknow-how and an understanding of the game
be able to solve conflicts and withstandpressure from spectators, officials and the
media.
