I really like the idea of being able to access my bookmarks anywhere! So far, I'm not crazy about
Delicious. I had no difficulty setting up an account on my work pc but, once I tried to add bookmarks, my computer S...L...O...W...E...D down considerably and I became impatient.
Last night I spent several hours searching the web and using delicious to keep track of what I found. It was way fun. This could get addicting!

A huge "well done" to the author of this Thing! I learned so much, and feel infinitely more capable of discussing why gaming is a legitimate part of public library service…this Thing was informative and fun. Thank you!
OK, this has been my least favorite thing so far. I haven't played a video game since Frogger in the early '80s and that was enough for me. Once I figured out how to actually play a game, I quickly got bored with it. It's all just too physically passive.

I did the blog thing and, though I don't think I will end up spending a lot of time blogging, I am glad to know how easy it is to create one, and to follow others. Now if a library patron asks me how to set up a blog, I will know how to assist him or her.
Okay, so now I have a blog. Now what? I've never been able to maintain a diary for more than three or four days, so doubt that the blog will fare much better.

I am having a lot of fun with this!Previously I had plenty of blogs I read, but I'd do it the old way, going to each site as it occurred to me. Now I'm finding Google Reader really easy to use. I like how everything is clean, organized, and looks the same, plus there's no ads from each of the sites cluttering things up.
Well, I have to say Google Reader made it incredibly easy to subscribe to RSS feeds. However, all that stuff shooting at you can just become overwhelming. The feeds I chose, all news feeds, were quick picks and not well thought out. There is so much volume that I pretty much look at it as junk mail.

Participant Quote:
“This discovery program also "forced" me to try things I probably never would have used before. I tweeted! I added to a wiki! I was at a library board meeting 2 weeks ago and we were discussing slide show presentations for some reason.... One of our board members said that slide show presentations were so hard to transport from computer to computer because they take up so much space blah, blah, blah.... I told them about SlideShare!”

How YouTube could be used at the library
“I just briefly mentioned this to one of my 13-year-olds who asked me what I was doing. His immediate response was: "It would be perfect for the library because there are so many "how-to" YouTubes. Ones that explain all kinds of ways to make things and how things work, and experiments you can learn from." “
