BSD MIDDLE SCHOOL NAVIANCE CURRICULUM

• 6th – Register and complete the learning style inventory in spring,

• 7th  - Register and complete the multiple intelligences inventory in spring

• 8th – Register and complete, multiple intelligences, learning styles, and strengths explorer surveys (to be continued in High School), and begin;

• 4 year high school plan,

• Colleges searches and,

• Search extracurricular programs for summer (under College tab - college research page)

GETTING STARTED

•By end of year, all Chinook students will have:

•Registered with their email, and password

•Asked to add at least one parent email

•Followed appropriate curriculum (previous slide)

•Have experience with Naviance

WHAT SHOULD 8TH GRADERS DO WITH NAVIANCE NOW?

• Make sure students have accessed Naviance and are familiar with Naviance – explore the site to see all available.

• Has your student added in parent email address?

• If counselors send any emails to parents, you will be included only if email is in Naviance

• Help your student to check information for extracurricular information under College Tab

MIDDLE SCHOOL USE?• Part of the Counseling Curriculum – so 6th and 7th graders will be registered and given information by counselors – have a curriculum for specifics used at each grade level (earlier slide)

• Will continue to be used by High School Counselors as part of their college support for students

• Explore the site as parents – put in parent

email if not there
