There are many reasons for special diets. A few are: Being a vegetarian, diabetes, food allergies, pregnancy, or athletics.

Vegetarians do not eat meat, poultry, or fish.
Many vegetarians take steps to full vegetarianism.
Vegans do not eat or use any products that come from an animal.
Vegetarian Diets
People with diabetes have blood glucose levels that are too high.
They can eat carbohydrates, but have to be careful of the type and amounts.
Need a diet with healthy carbs, high in fiber, healthy lean proteins, and healthy fats.
Need to avoid saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, and too much sodium.
Need a dietary plan.
Diabetic Diets
The top allergens for foods are: Milk, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, and eggs.
Reactions can range from mild to anaphylaxis.
There is no cure. Some children with allergies before age 5 outgrow them.
