two cars in one
Day to day, many short hops in Prius Plug-in can be undertaken in EV mode only, the same as Leaf. But in circumstances that could tax Leaf’s abilities (such as road trips, extended climbing or driving in extreme weather), Prius Plug-in has all the abilities and reassuring nature of a Prius. In other words, Prius Plug-in and Leaf are both great electric vehicles for around-town use, but Prius Plug-in is also a confidence-inspiring partner during longer or more challenging trips.

cost-effective economy
Prius Plug-in’s MSRP starts lower than Leaf’s, though available tax incentives can change the final figures. Beyond that, as part of a Leaf purchase, most new owners will probably spend up to $2,000 more to install a dedicated 240V, 40-amp charging station. Add it up, and Prius Plug-in becomes the choice for value.
