Intentions• What happens when we try to hide our

intentions?

We show up as fake.

Our survival mechanisms have evolved to detect whether a new person is trustworthy.

Our lives literally depend on it.

Incongruency• We read body language, look for patterns, listen to language,

watch eye movements and constantly evaluate those we come into contact with.

• We have remarkably sensitive mechanisms to detect incongruent behavior.

• Incongruent behavior creates disconnection

• Inconruent behavior: when your thoughts, words and actions aren’t aligned.

How to be congruent:• Because of our great bullshit detectors, it is

almost impossible to fake congruency.

• Live in a world where you can be honest, be yourself and be okay with that.

• Be clear in your intent. o If you are going into a sales presentation, build rapport quickly and get

to the point. Don’t spend half an hour beating around the bush before even bringing up the point of the call.

o If you approach a girl to ask her out, be direct, don’t hide your intentions.

Implementation• “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”

• They key is to take feedback from a place of responsibility.

Feedback• Focus on what you can control.

• Resist the knee-jerk reaction to get defensive or angry.

• Work to have your implementation be aligned with your intentions.

• Over time the gaps in integrity will diminish and you will experience the magic of setting clear intentions and having effective implementation.

Action Steps• Figure out exactly what success means to you.

Visualize it clearly.

• Write down all the things that stand in your way, those are your leashes.

• Commit to doing whatever it takes to unleash yourself and create your vision in the world. Success is messy.
