JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3Brief Overview of Task
Active Westminster is a partnership of over 300 organisations with many famous sport based sponsors. They hold an annual award show based on participation, places, progression and people, so there is a exceptions
to quality of production. Westminster Council holds 19 facilities from contract managed facilities, community use of schools, Active
Westminster Partner Facilities and Private sector facilities.First week - set up a group email, contact the contacts, make appointments to film session, ensure filming slips are
made available. Deadline for first draft 21st October 2016.Video has to be 2 minutes or less.Fast snappy cuts, with a range of different shots and different location, idolising the required category.Vision mixing, multi cameras for the live event in December.Music to be appropriate at discretion - negotiable to the client.Filming at each location, with ample time for improvement.
JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3Plan
I plan to produce a 2 minute clip for the Westminster Awards that features interviews from nominee’s and them in action at public centre’s across Westminster Council for the People’s category. The clip presented at professional quality and standards. The clip will embrace why the people who work for Westminster enjoy what do. There will be fast cuts, where the audience won’t get bored and a variation of different shots at numerous locations in Westminster Sports Centre’s.
JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3Theme
The theme and tone throughout the video will be linked through love. When filming and interviewing nominee’s, I would want them to express why they love their job - which links to the reason why they're up for the people’s category.
Also members of clubs explaining the benefits they receive from these people that help coach/mentor them, not only in the centre’s but outside too. This way we are able to actually reach the audience to understanding the importance of the reward and the job these people do on a day-to-day basis.
The music used will also enforce the theme and support the idea too.
JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3Editing Style
I would want to make the editing simple, fast cuts. Not too fast where nothing can be seen as interpreted, this becomes distracting for the viewer. I also want it to be cut to the bass track o the music, top give the professional clean finish. I wouldn’t use fancy transactions as it would take away from the authentic, real theme we are going for; which is why they love their jobs. I will include slow motion and fast forward effects to some of the clips.
I won’t use shots for too long as this will bore the viewer, I would use a compromisable balance.
JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3Shot Variation
I will use a variation of shots. Ranging from:
Wide shots
Mid Shots
Close Up Shots
Point of View Shots
Panning
Sweeps. Etc..
All of this brings more content quality for the standard, we are trying to present at the Active Westminster Awards.

JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3MUSIC
I have decided David Guetta and Emeli Sande - What I Did For Love.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fL5iWgWwno
It features vocals by Scottish recording artist Emeli Sandé. It was released officially on 22 February 2015 in the United Kingdom, which is important as Westminster is in the heart of the capital city - London in the UK.
I’ve chosen this song down to popularity and how the lyrics will correlate to the meaning and reasoning for the people’s award at Westminster Active Awards; the main line of the chorus lyric and track title, ‘What I Did For Love’, will solely define that each nominee does the job because of their sincere reasons of helping the community and enjoying their job and would definitely fit with the interviews and footage used.
JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3Negotiations
Music used - varies the relevance and how it links to the video.
Timing - the brief suggests two minutes or less, to not prolong the purpose.
Locations used - quite a few, only those needed as some won’t correlate.
Text on screen - opening title for the category, name tags, remains professional.
Interviewing partners - brings more effect and content to the clip.

JAMES CORBINUNIT 5 - WORKING TO A BRIEFTASK 3How to Be Better Than Previous Year’s?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IcfyllBrgE
This is Active Westminster: People's video for 2014, I think it was a good attempt.
I do feel like the quality and variation of shot styles, could be more professional and crisp, which will be done better for the 2016 video.
The music used was effective and the text on screen but the shots were more arranged like a slideshow, rather than a showcase, even though it had 3 interviews.
I did sense the theme of community and people in the video which I intend to carry through for this year’s attempt.
