UNIFORM GUIDELINES
Students attending the College are expected to wear the full uniform at all times and do so appropriately and with respect.
Students act as ambassadors for the College and for the Christadelphian community both inside and outside the College.
Heritage College strongly supports the appropriate wearing of a uniform because:
• It encourages identification with our College and the development of school spirit which is helpful for an effective learning community
• It covers basic health and safety requirements for schools and workplaces
• It reinforces the concept of team and community – of students, staff and parents working together for the benefit of all
• It provides an economical means of clothing students during school years
• It helps to maintain a tidy dress standard for the education context
• It reflects the reality of some workplaces, where business and industry expect that corporate uniforms will be worn neatly
• It provides easy identification on excursions and outings, enhancing the safety of students
School Shoes
Traditional black leather lace up school shoes with normal heel and black laces are worn
throughout the year.
Students in Junior Primary (F-2) are permitted to have Velcro rather than laces. These students
may wear plain dark blue school sandals (without socks) in Terms 1 & 4.
Sports shoes or sneakers
Sports shoes or sneakers which are appropriate for PE activities are to be worn only with the Sports Uniform. They should be
lace up and supportive. They must have non marking soles.
Students in Junior Primary (F-2) are permitted to have Velcro rather than laces.
Socks
White socks should cover the ankle and have no visible logos, stripes, patterns or colours. Grey plain socks are to be worn by
boys in winter. Girls may wear navy tights with their winter pinafore in lieu of socks.
Uniform Presentation
Students are to wear the school uniform in a neat and tidy manner at all times. Clothing is to be clean and in good condition.
Other items associated with uniform
Belts are to be dark in colour (blue or black), without slogans and should not attract attention.
The College wet weather jacket may be worn over the uniform in winter months when outside. Other jackets or coats are not
to be worn (except senior school jacket in years 11 & 12).
Girls are permitted to wear navy tights under their skorts for sports in lieu of trackpants.
Senior School Jackets
Our Year 10 students have the option of purchasing a senior jacket to wear in Years 11 & 12. This is organized each year in
Term 4.
Hair and grooming
Hair should be kept tidy, well groomed and off the face. Hair is to be natural in colour and style.
Boy’s hair length should be above the collar. Boys are to be clean shaven.
Girl’s hair should be all tied back if longer than shoulder length.
Ribbons or headbands are to be in College colours (navy blue, maroon, white) or of College fabric.
Jewellery, make-up and nail polish
Jewellery is limited to one set of sleeper or plain stud earrings in the lower ear lobe (girls only). Make-
up or nail polish are not to be worn at school. Other piercings of any type are not acceptable for boys
or girls. Watches may be worn at school.
Dress Lengths
Girls’ dresses and skirts are to be just below the knee.
