Editorial
As we move towards the end of the year and shorter days there is still lots happening in Towersey.
It is good to hear the building work will be starting at St Catherine’s this month, there is the village
bunting project to get involved with and Christmas prize bingo at the social club – to name just a
few.
We have also had some great news about funding for the newsletter as reported by Jan Rasmussen
on page 2

Village bunting project
We hope that you have had a chance to see Towersey’s fabulous bunting being put to good use over the
summer – perhaps at the May Day festival, the church fete or the village bake off?
Our next goal is to prepare another batch of pennants so that we can start creating more of our wonderful
bunting.
Please come along to the next Pop Up Café on Saturday 4th November to pick up blank pennants or to drop
off any fabric donations. We’d be very pleased to see you!
Alternatively, if you can’t make the café, please get in touch and we can let you have blanks or collect any
fabric donations.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
Thank you to everyone, be it village organisations or individuals, who have made contributions to keep our newsletter going over the last few years since the Festival ceased its funding. The newsletter has been around since the 1960s, and it is an important way to keep villagers up to date with what is going on in Towersey. I am very pleased to announce that we have been contacted by Helpful Hirings/Farol who are going to sponsor the newsletter, covering our printing costs. It is great to have the support of local businesses who have such close ties with Towersey and so a big thank you to them both. Jan Rasmussen, Newsletter Treasurer

Ahead of invitations being sent out, we would like to let you all know that the Towersey Annual New Year Lunch will be on SUNDAY 7th JANUARY, so if you or your partner is aged 65 or over, please put it in your diary now. To confirm, the criteria for receiving an invitation is as follows:
All residents of Towersey who have reached the age of 65, or whose partner has reached the age of 65.
Residents fitting the above criteria who move away from the village, for the one year after they move.
The ‘extended family’ of Towersey - i.e. local residents (rather than ex- village residents) who may not live within the village, but whom the TMH committee considers currently do a significant amount to support and help the community, and have reached the correct age.
If you are new to the village or have become eligible in the last couple of years, please contact Rob Walsh (213794 or [email protected]) so that we can make sure you receive an invitation in the next few weeks.
