Field TripsThe Engineering Academy at Elkins offers a wide range of field trips such as tours of, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Space Center Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, iFly indoor skydiving, and much more.

Guest SpeakersAt every monthly meeting in the library, the academy hosts a meeting for all academy students, with a guest engineer as the speaker for the meeting. All other meetings are hands-on based activities.

HIGHTOWER HIGH SCHOOLMEDICAL SCIENCE ACADEMY
Welcome, future 'Cane!Hightower High School's Medical Science Academy is an excellent learning path for students with an interest for the medical field. This school offers classes for not just the world’s future doctors, but also researchers, biomedical engineers, public health lawyers, etc. We encourage students with a love for science and even simply helping others to come to our academy and find their own path within the health field. We don’t just teach, we support, we comfort, and we grow together.

● Hightower is one of the only high school with two academies, so you have a chance to meet people with a variety of interests.
● We have great academy classes that offer a variety of fundamental lessons pertaining to medical courses.
We have an efficient student leadership board!
Some of Our Previous AccomplishmentsField TripsEach grade level has a field trip planned for a place that teaches them about the science.
Dodgeball TournamentA leisurely fundraiser that the academy hosts to raise money by having a fun, competitive game of dodgeball.
Around The World of MedicineA great fundraiser that promotes different fields of medicine and various career paths.
Industry RepresentativesWe have 15 industry representative positions that present a specific medical field each month.

Care Package DriveA drive hosted by the academy to create care packages for children in Ben Taub hospital.
Monthly MeetingsWe hope to host mini workshops during our meetings & invite new faces in the medical field to speak.
