• Global initiative for the continuous improvement in the
chemical supply chain (launched 1985 in Canada).
• Its requirements guarantee the responsible use and handling of
chemicals.
• It is a voluntary initiative that goes beyond legislative requirements.

Fecc National Associations (NA) RC Programmes
• The Fecc National Associations developed national RC
programmes in line with the ICTA Joint RC/RD Programme.
• In order to obtain the right to use the RC logo, NA must:
Comply with the programme.
Sign partnership agreement with manufacturers’
association and/or endorsed by Fecc & Cefic.
Implementation of RC in Europe
First distributor NA programme (CBA-UK)
is now 24 years old !

TPV of Company Compliance with Responsible Care
• Several options: SQAS Distributor/ESAD or similar system.
• In case of SQAS Distributor/ESAD:
The company assessed provides evidence of assessment
to the Association (NA or Fecc) and Improvement Plan.
• Every 3 years on the HQ site and, where applicable, at least
one sample operational centre (with rotation system):
Each country of operation.
The country where company is applying for logo.
TPV: independent assessment of distributor’s HSE performance!

Fecc initiatives 2015-2016
Revision of the Fecc European RC Programme to
render the programme more transparent, robust and
consistent.
Version 2.2 (2015): SQAS/ESAD assessments
preferred, compatibility criteria improved and the
process of acceptance of alternative schemes
established.
Version 2.3. (2016): Exemption from TPV for Office-
Only Micro-Businesses under certain strict
conditions.
