The TAG production of The 25th Annual PutnamCounty Spelling Bee is a f un evening of theatre that f eatures a cast of outstanding singer/dancer/actors. Thef irst act includes three intrepid audience members who become part of the action as a band of misf it prodigiestry to spell their way to f ame. It ’s a riot to watch the actors include the “civilians” in the action. The second actdelves more into the back stories of the characters. Anders Balderson shines as a goof y, adorablehomeschooler. Karen Myatt brings her powerhouse voice and a lovely vulnerability as a lonely newcomer.Rebecca Guilderson is superb as a lisping miniature activist. Kyle Gillis is hilarious as the mucus-f illed spellinggenius. The music is catchy and well-done (especially a lovely trio with Myatt, Margaret Champion and AndrewChandler). B-r-a-v-o! —Kate Watson
