National Weekly Weather Outlook (Monsoon 2014) as of 16-7-2014
Synoptic Situation: A well-marked seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its trough is extending south-
eastwards. Strong monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will continue penetrating up-
per/central parts of Punjab and Kashmir till Friday and are likely to weaken from Saturday. A westerly wave is
likely to approach upper parts of the country on Thursday (evening/night).

Rain-thundershower is expected at scattered places in Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Pun-jab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions) and KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D.I Khan divisions), Lower Sindh (Mirpurkhas, Karachi and Hyderabad divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Multan and Bahawalpur divisions. North Waziristan Agency (NWA) Displacement
NDMA Updates as of 16-7-2014 1. Displaced Persons Registration
For registration of population moving through other routes, new registration centers at Bannu
and Peshawar has been established by FDMA.
85,447 Families (952,361 individuals) crossed over from North Waziristan Agency and have been
registered as displaced persons.
Out of these 61 families (395 individuals) have opted to stay in DPs camp Baka Khel, Bannu.
2. Relief Assistance
Financial assistance to 1,534 DPs has been paid through Zong Timepay.
Total Food packs distributed: 114,193 (Army / UAE = 71,117 packs (90 kg each pack) and WFP = 43,076 Packs (93 kg each pack).
Zong Sims Distributed : 42,000 (Activated=37,047)
1,599 individuals (638 male, 601 female and 360 children) were provided medical treatment (to-tal patients treated: 18,297 till to date).
Govt of Punjab has started distribution of Rs.7, 000 per registered displaced persons family per month through Zong and 700 families has been benefited through this initiative.

FDMA Updates as of 16-7-2014 Establishment of Registration and Facilitation Points: Just after the start of displacement from the area, FDMA established DPs Registration and Facilitation point at Saidgai Check Post on Bannu-Miranshah Road and so far, up to 16

This week BHHs were installing their roof where 3rd tranches are distributed and last week 06 VCs have been distributed 3rd tranche where SOD have applied for 33 VCs for 3rd tranche and IOM issued the tranche for 19 VCs only. BHHs were busy for purchasing roof material in Dis-trict Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Shahdadkot, Sukkur and Larka-na but everywhere have been seen low quality of material so they are very compelled. SOD team has shared verbally to IOM during field visit about only low quality material of bamboos are available in markets that BHHs and SOD team is facing this situation. This week from IOM team Mr. Tahir Shah and Zulfiqar also visited the field where they distributed roofing sheets to 9 VCs and they checked walls and roofing.

Dengue Fever Updates as of 16-7-2014 Another dengue case was detected on Tuesday 15
th July, at Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital, Swat, bringing
the number of dengue patients during this season to 19 in Mingora city.
Owing to fear about the possible outbreak of dengue epidemic the district administration had accelerated the
awareness activities to prevent dengue virus from spreading.
According to the hospital sources, 45-year-old woman and resident of Amankot, Mingora, was tested positive
for dengue fever. Sources said that after the new case the number of dengue patients had reached 19. They
said that 11 of them had been discharged from the hospital after completion of their treatment.
