Welcome to the inaugural year of the Texas Civil Engineer-ing Conference (CECON) brought to you by the Texas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers in partnership with the Texas Concrete Pipe Association. Building on the momentum of our Centennial Celebration, CECON 2014 shifts focus from our tremendous past to the future challenges and how civil engineering will tackle these challenges as we continue to build a better world. CECON 2014 brings you three days of education and networking around three daily themes:
PORTS | TRANSPORTATION | ENERGYCECON features presenters from government, regulatory agencies, aca-demia, and private practice. In addition to the numerous sessions, there are many opportunities to network with old and new colleagues, including the Wednesday night barbeque sponsored by the Texas Concrete Pipe Associa-tion and the Thursday Luau Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
We’re transforming the way we operate to continuously improve our ability to serve our members, as well as support the civil engineering profession. With this our inaugural year of CECON, we value your feedback on the con-ference program and format, and hope you will respond to the post-con-ference survey, which will be sent out via email. Certificates for Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be provided upon completion of the survey.
We thank you for attending CECON and bringing your expertise to our gath-ering. You, as organization leaders, have the vision, the knowledge, and the experience to help us pave our way into the future. Throughout this confer-ence, we ask you to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future of civil engineering. We look forward to seeing you again next year in 2015!
