TEAM CHALLENGE PRICING THE DESTINATION IMAGINATION EXPERIENCEDestination Imagination (DI) is a project-based learning
experience that applies the creative process across seven
Challenge areas—technology, science, engineering, fine
arts, improvisation, service learning, and early learning—and
is open to any team of students from kindergarten through
university. By participating in Destination Imagination
Team Challenges, students gain the 21st century skills
needed to thrive in school, careers and beyond, including
creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and project
management. Teams have the opportunity to showcase their
innovative Challenge solutions at Regional and Affiliate DI
competitions and vie for a spot at Global Finals—the world’s
largest celebration of creativity.

Affiliates worldwide. To participate
in a tournament, teams must
register with their Affiliate.
There are additional fees for
Affiliate administration, Affiliate
Tournaments and Challenge
budgets. Some of our Affiliates
have directed us to collect their
Affiliate fees* with the purchase of
your Team Number.

Regional and Affiliate Tournaments occur between February and April. If you qualify at the Affiliate level, you advance to Global Finals.
The following are the age/grade requirements for 2017-18 Destination Imagination teams.
EARLY LEARNING: Preschool-2nd Grade
ELEMENTARY LEVEL (EL): No student born before June 15, 2006 or Kindergarten-5th Grade
MIDDLE LEVEL (ML): No student born before June 15, 2003 or 6th-8th Grade
SECONDARY LEVEL (SL): No student born before June 15, 1999 or 9th-12th Grade
COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY LEVEL: Full-time, post-secondary students enrolled in college, university, trade,
or technical school or in the military. College-bound high school seniors who are taking accredited courses
offered by a college or university that will qualify for course credit when entering higher education.
1 Adult Team Manager + 2 to 7 Team Members = Destination Imagination Team
