INVEST YOUR LIFE IN SOUL WINNING
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
(Proverbs 11:30)
To underscore the importance the Lord places on the souls of men, the Bible tells us in 2
Peter 3:9 that the Lord is not willing that any should perish. It therefore means it’s our
responsibility as ministers of reconciliation to invest our lives, energy, time, and resources in
soul winning.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only hope for the world today. It holds God’s answer to all of
the predicaments of humanity. Therefore, as an individual, it’s your divine responsibility to
take the message of Christ’s salvation to those in your world and in the regions beyond. In
Romans 1:16, Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the
Greek.”
Paul understood the importance of soul winning and considered no sacrifice too great for the
Gospel. He knew the Gospel was the only way of salvation, and he committed his all to
preaching it. He said, “…woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16).
The Gospel was that important to him.
It reminds me of the prayer of a young Canadian minister of the Gospel many years ago,
Oswald J. Smith. He prayed, “O God, I have only one life to live; please don’t let me waste it;
help me invest it in winning souls.” God granted his request and the man lived such an
inspiring life of soul winning. This ought to be your heart’s desire and prayer as a child of
God; you should invest your life and your all in winning souls. It’s the most important task you
could ever commit yourself to; therefore do it with great passion.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the grace you’ve granted me to be an effective soul winner;
thank you for counting me faithful, putting me in the ministry to deliver men and women
from the power of darkness into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.

YOU’VE PUT ON CHRIST
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
(Galatians 3:27)
How powerful this verse is! The English translation is actually concise with regard to what the
Apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, communicates to us here. To put on Christ isn’t suggestive of
putting Him on like a jacket; that doesn’t provide adequate covering for all the parts of your
body. In the Greek rendering, it actually connotes a sinking into; like sinking into a sack.
Imagine yourself in a sack, large enough to accommodate you, until you can’t be seen
anymore. You’ve been completely submersed into the sack; with none of your body parts
revealed. That’s the sense in which you’ve put on Christ. You’ve been completely immersed,
baptized, and enwrapped in Christ, such that Christ is all that can be seen about you.
This doesn’t suggest something that’ll happen with time, it’s who you are now; you’ve put on
Christ by virtue of the new birth; you’ve been baptized into Christ. Christ is all about you, all
over you, and all around you. You’re in Him; completely lost in Him! 1John 4:13 says, “…we
dwell in him, and he in us….” Also, Colossians 3:3-4 says your life is hid with Christ in God,
and Christ has become your life; what a revelation!
Make this your consciousness. You’ve been fully swaddled and encased in Christ. Since
sickness, disease, infirmity, fear, unbelief, and all such negativities can’t be found in Him,
they therefore shouldn’t be a part of your life. In Christ, you’re shielded from the mundane
and corrupting influences in the world. That means you can face life with boldness, courage
and a victor’s mentality.
You’re immersed in the one described for us in the Word as the reflection of the Father’s
glory, and the exact likeness or express image of His person. He’s the perfect representation
of God’s personality (Hebrews 1:3). When He walked this earth, He forgave, blessed, healed,
raised the dead, embraced sinners, and changed lives. Now that you’re soaked in Him; now
that he’s made you a partaker of His glory, grace and divine nature, His personality and
character should radiate through you to your world.
PRAYER
Dear Father, my life is hid with Christ in God, totally immersed into Christ. I declare that the
life that I live, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me. The
life of Christ is continually manifested in and through me to everyone in my world, in Jesus’
Name. Amen.

DON’T STOP TALKING YOUR FAITH!
So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
(Acts 19:20)
As a child of God nothing is impossible with you. No matter how hopeless a situation may
seem, you can change it. Some people have found themselves in situations where they
became frustrated and gave up because from the natural standpoint, nothing seemed to have
changed, even though they’d been confessing the Word for so long. Perhaps you’re reading
this today and you’re in that situation; you feel like giving up. I have a word of
encouragement for you: keep talking your faith; don’t stop!
Never stagger at the Word of God through unbelief. Strong faith doesn’t give up; it maintains
the confession. Just as Abraham talked to a barren womb, Ezekiel talked to dry bones, Jesus
talked to the waves, and they all got results, you too can change any hopeless situation with
your faith-filled confessions.
Your consistency in the profession of your faith is one of the most essentials of all Christian
attitudes. Therefore, irrespective of the diverse tests and trials that may come against you,
remain unshakeable, and keep the Word in your mouth. Keep speaking and doing God’s Word
and every anomaly in your life will conform to the will of God for you.
When you’re faced with challenges, go to the Word! Meditate and keep talking the Word. The
Word of God on your lips is God talking. Irrespective of what you see, hear, feel, or how
negative and impossible things may look in the natural; keep speaking the Word and there’ll
be a change. See trials as surmountable challenges, and as opportunities for the glory of God
to be revealed in your life.
CONFESSION
My confessions of faith come to pass because my words are anointed to produce results.
There’s no hopeless situation I can’t change, for my faith is the victory that overcomes every
adversity. Irrespective of what I hear, see or feel, my faith in your Word prevails. I walk in
health, victory, prosperity and success today, in Jesus’ Name.

MAKE DEFINITE REQUESTS
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything,
by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants
known to God. (Philippians 4:6 AMP)
You have to be definite when making requests of the Lord in prayer; be specific; say exactly
what you want. Not many know how to make definite requests to God in their times of need.
They merely complain to Him, and eventually wonder why their prayers are not answered. If
you’re going to take advantage of God’s extraordinary power in overcoming life’s adversities,
you must learn to be definite in prayer.
In Mark 10:46-52, we find the story of a blind man named Bartimaeus, who repeatedly cried
out to Jesus to have mercy on him. Naturally, you would have expected the Master to
immediately approach Bartimaeus and heal him of his blindness. But He didn’t! Rather, He
asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” Strange! Even though it was obvious the
man was blind, Jesus still wanted him to express his faith in specific terms. In response, the
blind man said, “I want to receive my sight.” The Lord’s ensuing statement was, “Receive
your sight!” and Bartimaeus was miraculously healed.
What God wants isn’t for you to cry to Him about your situation, but to express your faith
when you pray. Faith makes you a possessor! When you have made your definite request of
the Lord, give Him glory and keep your switch of faith turned on. Act like Abraham, who “…
staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving
glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to
perform” (Romans 4:20-21).
PRAYER
Dear Father, I declare that my faith is built strong and producing greater results today, as I’m
guided and inspired by your wisdom to make the right requests in prayer, with the accurate
understanding of the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

RELISH THE MOMENT!
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and
enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) .
(John 10:10 AMP)
Life is a journey, and while on that journey, it’s important you enjoy the trip and relish every
moment. There’s so much God has placed on your way, for you to enjoy, as you journey
through life. Life is not all about the future or the sweet-by-and-by; God wants you to enjoy
today. It’s great to be focused on your journey or the tasks ahead, but while at it, relish the
passing moments.
Observe Jesus’ statement in our theme verse: “...I came that they may have and enjoy life,
and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” God wants you to enjoy the life He
has given to you because that’s the reason Jesus came in the first place. You have to enjoy
every day of your journey in life. If you don’t enjoy yourself, no one will enjoy being around
you. Let every moment of your life be pleasurable because God has given you all things freely
for the basic purpose of enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17).
If you don’t enjoy the simple little things of life that God has given to you, you really can’t
enjoy spiritual realities. So, first, start out by appreciating yourself, and then also the people
God has placed in your world. Appreciate even the little things as what you wear—your shoes,
clothes, jewellery—etc! Even your devices, such as your mobile phones, relish them; enjoy
the features.
You also have to learn to let go of your past experiences, especially the unpleasant ones, and
have no fret or fear of tomorrow. The regrets of yesterday and fears of tomorrow are enemies
of today’s happiness. God doesn’t live in your yesterday, and He doesn’t triumph in your
fears, all He expects of you is to be the best of you and enjoy every moment of your life
TODAY!
CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank you for loading me daily with all the benefits of life such that I’m
thoroughly furnished with all I need to live joyfully today. I thank you for your glory and grace
that you’ve bestowed on me to reign in life today and forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS IN YOUR WORLD
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
(Mark 16:15)
Gospel means good news. So when Jesus said for us to go into all the world and preach the
Gospel to every creation, He meant for us to preach the good news. For a message to be
classified as good news means it must have the capacity to bring help to someone and
improve his life. It’s not good news if it doesn’t bring about any positive change.
Good news to the poor is that God has brought him out of poverty (2 Corinthians 8:9). Good
news to the sick is that God loves him and wants him well (3 John 1:2). Good news to the
confused and despondent is that Christ has brought him light, therefore confusion and
discouragement are over (Psalm 119:130). Good news to the sinner is that God is not mad at
him because of his sins; rather, He’s made righteousness available to him through the Gospel
(2 Corinthians 5:19).
This is the message that has been committed to our trust. This is the good news we must
spread in our world. Your primary responsibility on earth is to preach the Gospel to those in
your world; those with whom you share common interest, space or relationships.
The reason you’re on your job is because God sent you there to share the good news of
Christ’s salvation with them, so that they might receive eternal life. This isn’t optional; it’s
the core of your existence as a believer in Christ; necessity is laid upon you to preach the
good news to those in your world.
PRAYER
Eternal Father, I acknowledge that your precious Holy Spirit is upon me and has anointed me
to preach the Gospel to everyone in my world, bringing them out of darkness and thraldom of
defeat into the glorious light, victory and liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

HAVE A CHILDLIKE RESPONSE TO THE WORD
...Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children
[trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].
Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly,
loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 18:1-4 AMP)
As a Christian, have a childlike response to the Word; the kind described for us by Jesus in our
theme verse. God expects us to respond to the things of the Kingdom like little children,
“trusting, lowly, loving and forgiving.”
When He says for us to be trusting, He wasn’t in any way suggesting that we be gullible.
Rather, He meant for us to have confidence and faith towards God; accepting that He’s
everything He says He is. To be gullible means that one is easily persuaded; and children are
not easily persuaded, though trusting. They trust your character and believe whatever you
say. It’s this kind of childlike faith God expects us to have towards Him through His Word.
The Bible tells us “Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness”
(Galatians 3:6). Like a child, he trusted and followed the Lord, even though he didn’t know
where God was leading him: “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place
which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing
whither he went” (Hebrews 11:8).
Another attribute of children we’re admonished to emulate is their lowliness. Children are
humble. They’re not high-minded; they are just themselves. Jesus said the one who humbles
himself as a child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Also, children are loving and
forgiving. They hardly recall offences. No wonder the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:20,
“Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in
understanding be men.”
Children don’t know how to keep malice; they’re quick to forgive. So be like children; be
quick to pass over an offence. Don’t hold grudges. Some people are easily pained over issues,
and hold on to the wrongs done to them continuously. Don’t be that way; the Bible says love
takes no record of wrongs.
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for your love that’s in my spirit, which I express lavishly to
everyone around me today. You’ve taught me how to live in your Kingdom and be effective in
my day-to-day walk of faith by trusting you wholeheartedly and maintaining a humble and
forgiving spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

GET TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
(2 Peter 1:3)
The Lord has called us to a life of rest, power and authority. This isn’t an ordinary life; it’s of
the God-kind. Many aren’t living this transcendent life because they’re ignorant of it, while
others think it’s farfetched. But this is the life we truly have in Christ.
If you were to ask a group of Christians, “What would you like the Lord to do for you?” I’m
sure the response would be as varied as the number of people. But the important question to
ask rather is, “What has the Lord not already done for you?” If you would get the picture of
what He’s already done, you’d be amazed at how wonderful your life will be.
That a man is suffering and things aren’t working out for him doesn’t mean God hasn’t
blessed him. So why is he suffering then? Ignorance! The Bible says, “My people are destroyed
for the lack of knowledge...” (Hosea 4:6). Another reason is unbelief. The Bible tells us how
Jesus went to Nazareth to minister but couldn’t perform great miracles there, due to their
unbelief. He marvelled at their unbelief, which short-circuited His power (Mark 6:6). The
power was available, but the people didn’t believe to receive.
When the Word talks about receiving from the Lord, the word often used is the Greek word
“lambano,” which means to take a hold of something; to catch something and make it yours.
When God gives you healing for example, you must take it or catch it. You must apprehend it
for yourself. You can’t say, “It will happen in God’s time”; the time is NOW (2 Corinthians
6:2). Otherwise, you may just watch all the glorious blessings of God elude you. Get to know
and apprehend all that the Lord has already done for you as revealed in His Word.
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for all that you’ve made available to me in Christ Jesus; I
declare that all things are mine; and I’m living in the reality of who I am in Christ, in Jesus’
Name. Amen.

RECEIVE THE WORD WITH MEEKNESS
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness
the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
(James 1:21)
“Save your souls” in the context of the theme verse above doesn’t refer to salvation from sin,
but to the preservation of the salvation of the human soul. The Word of God is the basic
material for the development of the recreated human spirit. As a child of God, you must open
your heart and embrace the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation
through faith which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15).
God’s Word is His wisdom, which enables you to make accurate decisions that produce
glorious results with godly values. The Word in you will make you invincible in life. Embrace
the Word and make it preponderant and useful in all your practical experiences in life.
Some Christians unwittingly respond to situations in worldly wisdom. That’s because they’re
ignorant of the Scriptures. Only the Scriptures have the ability to make you wise, programme
your spirit for success, and energize you for victory. Any success outside the Word of God will
be short-lived, for true success comes through the Word (Joshua 1:8).
When you have the opportunity to hear God’s Word, go for it voraciously. Cherish the Word
more than your necessary food and apply it to your personal life. That way, you’ll experience
the blessings and reality of the Word in your life.
PRAYER
I live in joy, health, peace and experience victory today because I live by the Word! I release
the forces of life in my spirit upon my body, finances, academics, marriage, business and
everything that has to do with me as I open my spirit and act on the Word, in the Name of
Jesus. Amen.

ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For
bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of
the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
(1 Timothy 4:7-8)
Man is a spirit; he lives in a body and possesses a soul. Unfortunately, there’re people who
are more concerned about keeping their body fit, than paying the most attention to
exercising their spirit unto godliness. The spirit is the real man; no wonder we’re admonished
to exercise our spirits rather unto godliness.
God doesn’t want you to have a super-built body and be flabby spiritually; therefore you must
exercise your spirit! You must engage in spiritual exercise, which unlike physical exercise has
a promise both for this life and for the life to come. So, the question then is: how do you
exercise yourself spiritually? It is simply by engaging in spiritual activities such as going to
church regularly, praying in tongues consistently, studying God’s Word, and sharing it with
others, and serving in any capacity in the church of God.
There are Christians who don’t go to church regularly, and that’s not right; the church is
where you’re taught God’s Word that builds your spirit! It’s the place where you can
participate in godly activities that’ll help you grow spiritually. In addition, you must not
neglect to pray in other tongues. Praying in other tongues is a great spiritual exercise; it’s the
fastest way to activate and energize your spirit. Train yourself to pray often in other tongues;
apart from the many other benefits it has on your life, it will open your heart to receive and
understand God’s Word.
Keep exercising yourself spiritually by doing those things that enhance your walk in the divine
life. As you do, not only will your faith grow stronger, you’ll also deal wisely in the affairs of
life.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for showing me how to exercise and energize my spirit. My spirit is
activated to receive your guidance today; and I’m making tremendous progress in my life, and
the work of the ministry is prospering in my hands, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THE WORD
…through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
(Proverbs 11:9)
Too many Christians have never been taught the Word of God. Many have never been taught
about their inheritance and identity in Christ. Hence, whenever they face challenges, they
feel inadequate, and accept the position of defeat and failure. It’s important to be
knowledgeable in the Word and be able to apply it in your daily life. Living a victorious,
joyous, and prosperous life is dependent on how much of God’s Word you programme into
your spirit.
In our theme verse, we read that through knowledge shall the just be delivered; not only
from trouble, but into his inheritance: prosperity, health, healing, deliverance and all the
other blessings of salvation. The severity of a man’s situation isn’t the problem; rather, his
ignorance of the Word is his bane. In Matthew 22:29, the Lord Jesus reveals that the reason
some people err and make the wrong choices in their lives is spiritual ignorance. Hosea 4:6
says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge....”
Have a burning desire, an appetite of insatiable depth for the knowledge of God’s Word.
Study the Bible voraciously and cultivate the habit of acquiring good Christian materials
that’ll aid your spiritual growth. We have lots of such materials that’ll be a blessing to you

EMBRACE THE RIGHT THOUGHTS
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
(Proverbs 4:23)
Often in the Scriptures, heart is used in lieu of spirit and the reason is clear. Just as the
physical heart is the operational centre of the human body, so also the spirit is the controlling
centre of human existence. Proverbs 4:23 (MSG) says, “Keep vigilant watch over your
heart; that’s where life starts.” Everything about your life actually originates from your
spirit. Success or failure, wealth or poverty, excellence or mediocrity will emanate from a
man’s spirit.
Your mind is the door to your spirit. That’s why whatever words and thoughts you allow go
through your mind, unchecked, will be deposited in your spirit. This is the reason you have to
screen and filter what goes through your mind to your spirit.
Every day, we hear words, see things, and receive all kinds of information, positive and
negative. Thus, you need to mount guard on your heart and not allow your spirit receive and
process the wrong information. Never allow your heart dwell on anything you hear, feel or see
that’s inconsistent with the Word of God. The Hebrew word translated “guard” in Proverbs
4:23 gives the picture of a stronghold mounted over something valuable. We can as well
paraphrase the scripture this way: “Mount a garrison over your heart, for it affects
everything you do.”
If for example, you heard that there’s trouble in the economy; recession is setting in, and
there’s hardship everywhere; don’t be perturbed because you’re not of this world. Refuse to
process such negative information; don’t dwell on it. Refuse to let it run your life or
determine the circumstances of your existence. Rather, you should say “No! That’s not for
me. I function in the realm of superabundance because I’m an heir of God and a joint heir
with Christ. I can never be poor, broke or disadvantaged.”
If you give wrong thoughts access into your heart, they’ll ‘instill fear in you’. So, make the
conscious effort to keep vigilant watch over your heart. Embrace only thoughts of success,
victory, health, prosperity, happiness and fulfilment that come from God’s Word.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word that gives me the right information to think and
meditate upon; your Word continually finds its home in my heart, effectual and effective in
me, producing everything it talks about, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DON’T FOCUS ON THE CHALLENGES
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine
hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
(Psalm 138:7)
Too many people focus attention on their challenges and problems; they keep thinking about
the challenges and hardships befalling them. As a result, they’re always regretting yesterday
and dreading tomorrow; a situation that robs them of today’s happiness. They continually
fellowship with their problems.
But the Word says in Joshua 1:8, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth;
but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous,
and then thou shalt have good success.” The Lord instructed Joshua, and the same principle
applies to you today, to meditate on the Word, not your problems. Rather than waste
precious time bemoaning the problem, focus on the power of God and efficacy of His Word to
put you over and effect a change in that situation.
Jesus asked in Matthew 6:27 (AMP), “And who of you by worrying and being anxious can
add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life?” Some people
even think it’s fashionable to fret and worry. If they’re not worrying, they’ll feel something is
wrong; they must “worry” to be alive. If they don’t have something to worry about, they’ll
help someone else worry. What a miserable way to live!
Learn to cast your cares upon the Lord; refuse to worry. When a problem or a challenge tries
to get your attention and cause you to worry, act on the Word. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be
careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Worrying doesn’t change anything; rather it short-circuits the power of God and makes your
faith ineffective. So refuse to worry. Rather, spend time to fellowship with the Lord;
meditate on His love, goodness, mercy and kindness, and He’ll perfect all that concerns you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for loving and caring for me affectionately. I give room for your
peace to mount guard over my heart today, and I reject anxiety, worry and stress, and
declare that I live in joy and rest in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

HE PERFECTS YOUR PATH
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me…
(Psalms 138:8)
Oh, what peace flooded my soul when I discovered this scripture many years ago. I realized I
shouldn’t ever worry about anything. You don’t need to fret about the future because He that
owns tomorrow is perfecting your path. The Lord will perfect that which concerns you. Make
this your daily confession, and the Holy Spirit will perfect everything about your life.
The Lord gives you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons; He satisfies your heart with
nourishment and happiness (Acts 14:17 AMP). How wonderful He is! Trust the Lord with your
life and you’ll be full of peace, joy and happiness. He says in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto
me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
You can’t lead a fruitful and productive life when you’re only conscious of problems and
challenges. This will rob you of joy, weigh you down and ultimately cripple your faith. The
Word says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7). That
means leave them all to the Lord; He’s powerful enough to handle them.
God knows about and perfects those things that concern you. Therefore, as you trust Him
with your life, you’ll experience His peace. Peace is a consequence of trust, and trust is a
product of knowledge. This is why your knowledge of God’s Word is very important. As you
study and meditate on the Word, you’ll realize that God is indeed big enough to take care of
you. Trust Him today and you’ll experience overwhelming peace in your spirit and increased
productivity in your life.
PRAYER
Dear Father, my spirit is flooded with the warmth of your love, and my heart is refreshed in
your presence, and overwhelmed with your peace today. Thank you for perfecting all that
concerns me, and guiding me in the path of success, victory and increased productivity, in
Jesus’ Name. Amen.

USE WHAT YOU HAVE
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every
name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth.
(Philippians 2:9-10)
As believers in Christ, we’ve been given the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus. If
for instance someone comes to you with a request in the name of his boss; an authority figure
you recognize, you’ll oblige him, not because of who he is as a messenger, but because of the
respect you have for the one in whose name he has come. Even if you don’t like the
messenger’s face or attitude, your respect for his boss will compel you to grant his request.
It’s like receiving a document with the authentic seal or signature of someone of high
authority. You respond favourably to that document immediately you receive it because you
recognize the power and authority of the one whose seal or signature is on it. That seal is an
instrument. The Name of Jesus works the same way in the spirit-realm.
Peter understood this when he met the crippled man at the gate of the temple called
Beautiful. That’s why he said to him “…such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). He then took the crippled man by the right hand,
and lifted him up. The Bible says, immediately, the man’s hitherto crippled feet and ankle
bones received strength (Acts 3:7-8). This wasn’t prayer; Peter didn’t make a request to God.
He used the Name of Jesus as an instrument.
When God sent Moses to Egypt to lead the Israelites out of bondage, He transformed his
shepherd’s rod supernaturally into an instrument of power (Exodus 4:2-5). You have
something better than a rod, and that’s the precious Name of Jesus. When you make demands
based on the instrumentality of the Name of Jesus, the Lord will see to it that it happens
(John 14:14). Never say you don’t have anything; you have the Name of Jesus; a mighty and
wonderful instrument—use it!
CONFESSION
Thank you, Father, for the wonderful Name of Jesus that’s better than all things, sweeter
than honey and above all, infallible. I use it at all times for all situations, and I relish its
astronomic benefits in all things. Amen.

JESUS: THE INCARNATE WORD OF GOD
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The
same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not
anything made that was made…. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and
we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(John 1:1-3, 14)
Just as no other apostle gave us the revelation of the Church like Paul, no one gave the
Church the revelation of the Person of Jesus like John. He was the closest to the Master, and
as you study his writings, you’ll discover Jesus in a way no other disciple describes Him.
While Matthew and Luke began their Gospels by tracing the earthly genealogy of Jesus, John’s
gospel declares His divinity. He was the first apostle to give us a glimpse into Jesus’ eternal
personality; explicitly stating that Jesus Christ is the Word that pre-existed the beginning of
creation and by whom all things were created (John 1:1-3). He was known as the Word,
Wisdom, or the Voice of the Lord in the Old Testament.
Throughout the generations of man, no one—not even the angels—ever saw the One called
‘Jesus’ until He was born in a manger. So where was He all the while? He was in the bosom of
the Father: “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the
bosom of the Father, he hath declared him” (John 1:18). Just as the word of a man is in
him until he speaks, no one ever saw the Word because He was in God.
God reveals Himself through His Word (Hebrews 1:3), and Jesus is the exact representation of
His personality. He is “...the Voice of the Lord God...” that Adam and Eve heard walking in
the garden (Genesis 3:8). He is the Wisdom that David and Solomon wrote so passionately
about. So His birth was such a marvel to the hosts of heaven; it was a miracle beyond what
they had ever seen (Luke 2:13-14). Suddenly, they were looking at the Creator of the
universe, the Ancient of days…wrapped in swaddling clothes; the Word in heaven had visited
men in the flesh! Every step Jesus took was the Word of God revealed; He was the Word
personified.
CONFESSION
Lord Jesus, you’re the living Word of God, full of grace and truth! I worship and adore you for
who you are. You are the Word of life, the living bread from heaven that gives life to every
man in the world. Hallelujah!

ACKNOWLEDGE THE TREASURE IN YOU
That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every
good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
(Philemon 1:6)
What a blessed truth revealed to us in this verse of Scripture! The King James Version renders
it most accurately. I want to highlight three keywords in that verse.
The first is “communication,” which is translated from the Greek word “koinonia”; and it
means fellowship or participation. The second word is “effectual,” which means to become
active or operative. It derives from the Greek word “energĕs.” The Lord wants your
participation or fellowship in the faith to become active; he wants your life to transcend the
limitation of the natural laws through the acknowledging of every good thing, which is in you
in Christ Jesus.
The third word I want to highlight is “acknowledging,” and it’s from the Greek word
“epignosis.” “Epignosis” is full discernment and recognition of spiritual realities. Therefore,
in Philemon 1:6, the Lord is saying that your participation or fellowship in the Gospel of Christ
will become effective (active and operative) through your acknowledging (full and absolute
knowledge) of every good thing that you have in your spirit by virtue of your faith in Jesus
Christ.
For the Lord to say this means He has deposited treasures in your spirit. He has imparted to
you amazing power and ability that if activated or acted upon will cause you to live the
transcendent life in this world. Some Christians aren’t effective in their faith-walk because
they haven’t acknowledged the good treasures of the Spirit, deposited in them by virtue of
their union with Christ. There’re good things in you; treasures of inestimable value and
wealth untold. 2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “…we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the
excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” Get to know the good things in you
by studying God’s Word and you’ll be effective in your faith life.
PRAYER
Precious Father, I thank you for the great blessings and glorious things that you’ve deposited
in me in Christ Jesus. I acknowledge your life that’s in my spirit and the gift of righteousness,
peace and joy that you’ve granted me! I’m blessed beyond measure, and my participation in
the faith life shall continually be effectual in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DON’T IGNORE WISDOM
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom…
(Proverbs 4:7)
You might want to ask, “Why is the world so full of failures?” “Why do many struggle through
life?” “Why do some become wealthy only to end up in poverty?” “Why are there many whose
fantastic dreams never materialize?” The answer to these is simple: it’s because they’ve
ignored the Word of God, and the Word of God is the wisdom of God.
There’re people all over the world who depend solely on the government because they think
their prosperity is predicated on the economy of the country where they live. However, life is
not that way. Your success isn’t in any government, country of residence or profession. Your
success in life is predicated on one thing: the wisdom of God. Wisdom is the principal thing
(Proverbs 4:7); it’s the capital you require for any venture in life.
The wisdom of God is excellent wisdom; it directs profitably in all things. It provides you with
insight into reality. It gives you foresight in all manner of learning and ability to unravel
mysteries and difficulties. It was the wisdom of God that made Daniel a divine cynosure in
Babylon (Daniel 5:12). This same wisdom gave Solomon the distinguishing edge that made him
the wisest man that ever lived on earth, until Jesus.
As a young man, who just ascended the throne, God asked Solomon to make a demand on Him
and he chose wisdom in place of other things. David, his father, had taught him that Wisdom
was never to be ignored; being the key to lasting success and prosperity (Proverbs 4:3-5).
The Bible says all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid in Christ (Colossians 2:3). As
a Christian, you have access to divine wisdom because you’re a joint heir with Christ (Romans
8:17). Today, wisdom is still crying out, and I urge you not to ignore His voice. You hear Him
every time you study the Scriptures, read this devotional or any other Spirit-inspired material.
Give the utmost attention and highest priority to the Word of God in your life.
CONFESSION
I function today with supernatural amplitude of comprehension; dealing circumspectly in all
the affairs of life, because the wisdom of God is in my heart and in my mouth! Blessed be
God!

THE INSTRUMENTALITY OF THE WORD
And I say also unto thee…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail
against it. (Matthew 16:18)
I get so inspired each time I read this scripture. These were the words of the Master Himself,
and He categorically stated that He’s personally responsible for building His Church; how
comforting!
We know that the Lord Jesus has gone to heaven, but the Holy Spirit is with us, continuing His
ministry here on earth. So how does the Lord build His Church? He builds His Church through
the instrumentality of the Word.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ was brought to us by the instrumentality of the Word. The
Scriptures contain God’s plan and purpose for mankind. In your relationship with Jesus as
Lord of your life, the first thing you have to learn is submitting to the Lordship of His Word.
The Word is the only ingredient that can transform a person’s life on all three levels: spirit,
soul and body (Hebrews 4:12).
When the Word of God gets into your spirit, it produces in you what it talks about. For
example, the Word is the instrument for salvation, which is the very first step. Romans 1:16
says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believeth….” That means God’s power to save anyone is in the
Gospel of Christ: His Word of salvation.
The Word of God can also transform your way of thinking as the Bible says in (Romans 12:2).
Then of course, the Word can transform your physical body (Proverbs 4:22); it will grant you
divine immunity against sickness and any kind of infirmity. In addition, the Word of God has
the power to inspire prosperity in your life (Proverbs 8:10-11; 2 Corinthians 8:9).
Make a personal decision to improve your life with the Word of God. Build for yourself an
effectual life of success, progress and consistent victory through the instrumentality of the
Word.
PRAYER
Dear Father, my heart is forever open to receive your engrafted Word with meekness, faith
and gladness. I yield myself to the ministry of your Word, knowing that it is able to build me
up, and bring me into my inheritance in Christ. Amen.

GIVE EARNEST HEED TO DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS
Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
(Proverbs 8:10)
In their attempts at success in life, some people would give up anything for secondary factors
such as money, human connections, and uncertain philosophies. However, one of the surest
measures for guaranteed progress in life is heeding spiritual instructions. Such instructions
convey God’s wisdom, which if followed tenaciously, would produce perfection in your life
and unveil the greatness that’s encapsulated in your spirit.
For example, when it was time to take Jericho, Joshua knew he couldn’t sit down with the
elders and warriors of Israel to plan the conquest. He was convinced that their victory was
entirely dependent on divine strategy. So he jettisoned every distraction to meditate and
wait on the Lord. It wasn’t long afterwards that the Lord appeared to him and gave him
supernatural instructions that resulted in the capture of Jericho and the collapse of its
formidable walls (Joshua 5:13-15, 6:1-20). The divine strategy was for the Israelites to lay
down their swords, shields, and spears and march round the walled city silently, once every
day for seven days. They were further instructed to walk round the city seven times with a
triumphant shout at the last round on the seventh day.
As outlandish as these instructions were, Joshua and the congregation of Israel harkened to
them, and the hitherto insurmountable wall of Jericho fell down flat completely. God’s
instructions are devoid of assumptions. Every instruction of the Spirit is entrenched in the
infallible principles of God’s Word. Even when it seems difficult, ridiculous or naïve, always
remember that it’s intended for your improvement and promotion. Therefore, be motivated
to action by the instructions of the Spirit in divine wisdom.
Psalm 19:7 says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of
the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” It makes no difference what wall you’re faced
with in your life today; it could be the wall of sickness, financial difficulties…etc., they’ll
crumble before you as you give earnest heed to God’s instructions.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for teaching me how to make supernatural progress by taking heed
to your Word. My spirit is consistently opened to receive your instruction, which is my life,
and with your counsel, I wage a good warfare, triumphing every day to the glory of your
mighty Name. Amen.

FULFIL HIS PERFECT WILL; NOT YOUR OWN PLANS
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(Romans 12:2)
God doesn’t expect you to live or act without the knowledge of His Word. Many do what they
do, not because they’re certain it’s what God wants, but because they’re led by their senses.
To live a perfect and balanced life, you must function according to the knowledge of the
Word of God. That’s the only way you can be in sync with God’s perfect will for you. That’s
how to live according to His dream and not according to your own plans.
Living or doing things according to your own plans or appetites is spiritual immaturity. When
you grow in Christ, you cease to have your own ways. Rather, you plan according to God’s
instructions and directions. Your goal should be to fulfil His plan and walk in His perfect will
for your life.
When you function in the centre of God’s will, everything that’s connected with you—within
the ambits of His plans for your life—will be in place.
Serve God with your life; live according to His Word, and you’ll find yourself walking in the
centre of God’s will.
PRAYER
Blessed heavenly Father, I thank you for guiding my heart and leading me in the path of your
perfect will for my life, even as I yield completely to the Lordship and tutelage of your Word
and your Spirit today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as
we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be
uttered.
(Romans 8:26)
There’re times when, in spite of the nudging and prompting you might have in your spirit to
pray, you’re just not sure exactly what to pray about or the words with which to articulately
express yourself to the Lord. Also, there’re things that concern us which we don’t even know
about, but God knows. So, at such times, the Holy Spirit inspires us to pray; He takes charge
for us. He ministers and makes intercession for you or through you, according to the will of
God. How does He pray through you in such situations?
That’s what we read in our theme verse; He does it with deep sighs or groanings that can’t be
uttered in articulate speech. When you pray in tongues, you give vent to the Spirit to express
Himself; your spirit is activated.
Now, who gives you the words to speak in tongues? It’s the Holy Spirit. The Bible says we
speak in tongues according to the utterance given to us by the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4). The Holy
Spirit puts the language in your spirit; so when you speak in tongues, they’re words of the
Spirit! You speak forth words that the Holy Spirit has formed within your spirit; what a way to
pray without limitations!
Your mind may not remember all the things you need to pray about; you may not even know
what to say about them; but the Holy Spirit does, and therefore gives utterance to your spirit.
Praying this way is a most effective way to effect changes and take charge of situations.
Praying in the Spirit helps you deal with issues and puts things right in your life, in line with
God’s perfect will!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for loving me and caring for me affectionately, thus giving me the
Holy Spirit to help me pray without limitations. As I pray in tongues today, everything which
concerns me is put into shape and perfected, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TRUST THE WORD FOR YOUR HEALING AND HEALTH!
And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for
meat, whose leaf shall not fade…the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for
medicine.
(Ezekiel 47:12)
There are believers who wrongly assume that for a Christian to take any kind of medication is
an indication of a lack of faith. Meanwhile, God is not averse to the use of medication. If a
Christian uses medication, it doesn’t mean he’s done something wrong. In the Old Testament,
God gave the priests medical instructions for the people, as we read in our opening verse.
We find the same allusion in Revelations 22:2: “In the midst of the street of it, and on
either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits,
and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the
nations.” Did you notice that it says, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the
nations? In other words, healing came from the use of those leaves. This helps us understand
God’s thinking concerning medicine, and how He wants people well.
However, the Word of God is the best medicine; far more potent than any herb or medical
drug: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not
depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto
those that find them, and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:20-22).
Here, we discover the curative and therapeutic power of the Word; it’s health, that is,
medicine to your flesh!
The word “health” is from the Hebrew word “marpe” which means medicine, healing or
remedy. It connotes that which has curative ability. You should rather use your faith to
receive healing through the Word. There’re ailments that till date, have defied any known
medical diagnosis and cure; but the Word of God is the infallible remedy. Therefore, trust the
Word for your healing and health.
PRAYER
Dear Father, your Word is my life; thank you for the transformation, light and guidance that I
receive today through your Word. Your Word is not only food for my spirit but also produces
health in me, making me vibrant and productive in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

NOT CALLED TO OBEY
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the
same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
(2 Corinthians 3:18)
There’re those who say, “If you don’t obey God’s commandments, He won’t bless you.” Such
a notion is contrary to God’s personality and His nature of love and goodness as revealed in
the New Testament. In the Old Testament, they tried to obey God and failed; but in the New
Testament, we’re not told to obey, but are called obedient children (1 Peter 1:14), having
already obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to us (Romans
6:17).
The problem with the Old Testament wasn’t the Law but the imperfection of the carnal man
(Romans 7:7-25). The people had to obey the commandments before they could be made a
peculiar treasure and a kingdom of priests (Exodus 19:5-6). But in the New Testament, we
were born that way: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9). You were born a chosen generation, a king
and a royal priesthood.
The obedience He calls for is the obedience to the Gospel, the message of salvation (Romans
10:9-10), which you already fulfilled when you made Jesus the Lord of your life. Today, we
don’t try to obey God’s Word; we live and do the Word. When we look at the Word, we see
ourselves. God’s Word is the mirror of the new creation; it’s the album that reflects your true
image and identity.
The picture of you that the Word reveals may seem incredible, but as you continue to look
unswervingly, into the Word, the perfect Law of liberty, you’re transformed into the same
glory that you see in the Word.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word is my life. It’s natural for me to live in, and by, your
Word, which is working mightily, and producing results, in me, making me what it says, in
Jesus’ Name. Amen.

EVERYTHING IS YOURS IN THE “NOW”
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
(2 Corinthians 1:20)
If you’re born again, every promise in the Word of God has already been fulfilled in you!
That’s what the Word teaches. I remember telling this to a group of ministers and one of
them asked me, “What about heaven? Isn’t that promised us?”
Heaven isn’t a promise because we were born there: “But ye are come unto mount Sion,
and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable
company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are
written in heaven…” (Hebrews 12:22-24). So you see, you’re a bona fide citizen of heaven:
“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord
Jesus Christ:” (Philippians 3:20).
The fact that you’re still on earth doesn’t preclude you from enjoying all the legal rights and
privileges of your heavenly citizenship. Let me illustrate it this way: Let’s suppose you’re a
citizen of the United States living in South Africa. Does the fact that you’re not living in the
United States nullify your American citizenship? Or is your citizenship a promise? Certainly
not!
It’s the same thing spiritually. The Bible says heaven is our home; it belongs to us now.
Therefore, it’s not a promise. When you study the Scriptures, you’ll realize that the Christian
is a possessor. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23 says, “…For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or
Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come;
all are yours….” Simply, you own the world. Therefore, find out from God’s Word your
present-hour inheritance! Find out what He has made you and given to you to enjoy. Decide
to enjoy the best in life today, for your best life is NOW. Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I’m the seed of Abraham and a joint heir with Christ; therefore, I’m the possessor of all
things; I own the world! Blessed be God, who has freely given me all things to enjoy, and has
blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

REMAIN STANDING ON THE WORD
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the
evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(Ephesians 6:13)
Some people wrongly blame God for many things. For example, someone gets admitted into a
school, and after a while, he encounters certain difficulties, which lead to his expulsion from
that school. Subsequently, he starts griping and blaming God, asking, “O God, Why did you let
this happen to me?” In the first place, did God tell him to go to that school? That’s the
question he ought to answer.
When God asks you to do something, and then trouble comes because of what He told you to
do, you don’t cower; you remain standing on the Word because you know He sent you. The
fact that He sent you doesn’t mean there’ll be no trouble. In Exodus 14, when God told Moses
to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, what He didn’t tell Moses was that they’d be
hemmed in between Pharaoh’s charging chariots and the Red Sea. But right there, God said,
“Moses, stretch your hand over the water and divide it!” Moses did, and the miracle of
miracles took place; the Red Sea parted before them, and the children of Israel walked
through on dry ground.
Just because you’ve come to a place where the Red Sea is before you, and the enemy is
behind you, doesn’t mean God didn’t send you or He’s not with you. If He sent you, He’s with
you, and in the midst of that adversity He wants you to remain standing on His Word! He says
in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord….”
Focus your life on what God has called you to do and don’t be distracted by the challenges
that may come your way. When you focus like that and remain standing on the Word, you’ll
find that irrespective of the oppositions or difficult situations, there’s always a miracle for
you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I’m yielded to the ministry of your Word and the guidance of your Spirit today!
Therefore, I refuse to be swayed by oppositions, but I’m focused on your Word which cannot
fail. I have the victory over all circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BLESSED IN ALL THINGS
And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all
things.
(Genesis 24:1)
Notice our theme verse didn’t say, “The Lord shall bless Abraham in all things”; rather it says
“...and the Lord had blessed Abraham in ALL things.” It reminds me of what the Scripture
says in Ephesians1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Like Abraham, we are
blessed in all things: “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham”
(Galatians 3:9).
The moment you were born again, it became too late for you to be poor, because you’re an
heir of God, and joint-heir with Christ: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and
joint-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17). Prosperity is your birthright. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your
sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” God’s will for you is to
enjoy prosperity that comes with riches, happiness, health, peace and fulfilment; that’s what
it means to be blessed in all things.
The beautiful thing is that you don’t have to pray to God to bless you or make you prosperous;
He’s already done it. What you need is to wake up to the realization that you’re blessed in all
things. You’re “...like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit
in his season; your leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever you do shall prosper”
(Psalm 1:3). Begin to function in this truth. Refuse poverty and poverty-mentality. Recognize
that you have limitless and inexhaustible inheritance in Christ; go ahead and prosper in all
your ways!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I honour you for your wonderful blessings in my life, which flow out and touch
others around me; I thank you for bringing me into the life of abundance, peace, joy,
fulfilment, divine health and protection! Thank you for blessing me in all things, in Jesus’
Name. Amen.

A SPIRITUAL GIANT THROUGH THE WORD
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh
the world, even our faith.
(1 John 5:4)
There’s no weakness, hindrance or disadvantage to the child of God, for he has in him the all-
conquering power and ability of divinity. The Message Translation’s rendering of the opening
verse says: “Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering
power that brings the world to its knees is our faith” (1 John 5:4). If you’re born again,
you have in you the power to effect a change by acting on the Word; this is regardless of what
the situation might be in your country, company, finances, family or physical body.
As a Christian, you’ve got to give the utmost priority and attention to the study of God’s
Word. God has made you a spiritual giant, but until you give yourself wholly to studying and
meditating on the Word (1 Timothy 4:15), you’ll live far below your potentials. Man has three
phases of life to live: the physical, mental and spiritual life. He has lived his physical life and
realized that victory isn’t by strength alone. He has lived a mental life and he has seen the
limitations of his intellect. However, there’s one phase left that he hasn’t fully explored, and
this is the spiritual life.
Years ago, wars were waged and won on the basis of physical stature; hence, physical giants
dominated the earth. Men like Goliath of Gath dominated and terrorized other nations. Soon
enough, others became more intelligent and found ways to defeat these giants. Gradually,
mental giants began to emerge on the scene. So today, we have many mental giants
dominating our world, in various fields. But we’re beginning to see their failures;
economically, politically, medically and so on.
Now, because of the failures of the physical and mental giants, the world is crying out for
something more. Man is in his last phase of life; the spiritual life. This is the reason God is
raising spiritual giants today; men who know the power of the Spirit and understand the
realities of the spirit realm. Rise up to today’s challenge and be the wonder that God has
created you to be through the Word.
CONFESSION
I’m completely yielded to the ministry of the Word of God in my life. The Word is taking the
centre stage and has become the focus of my existence, making me a spiritual giant.
Hallelujah!

LIVE BY THE ANOINTING!
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…
(Acts 1:8)
There’s no such thing as Christianity without the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Without the
anointing, what you have will be mere religion, and religion gives you nothing. We must
operate under the anointing of the Holy Spirit all the time. The anointing is real and it’s for
us to live by.
The anointing is also transferable. In the book of Acts, there were various accounts of how
the anointing was communicated through material mediums as handkerchiefs and aprons and
even through the shadow of Peter (Acts 19:12; Acts 5:15). If the anointing could be retained
on inanimate objects, how much more on your physical body!
Therefore, it’s important that we operate in the arena of faith in God’s Word where the
anointing becomes something that we’re not only acquainted with, but what we relate with
and enjoy. Too many Christians don’t care about the anointing, and that’s wrong. You have to
realize that nothing you’ll ever do for the Lord would be acceptable to Him except done
through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus had to offer Himself to God through the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). No matter how
religious and respected by men you might be, without the anointing of the Holy Spirit your
life will be empty. For your services and devotions to the Lord to be of eternal significance,
you’d have to carry them out by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Lord Jesus is concerned
about the works that remain; works that are of eternal value. No wonder He said, “Ye have
not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring
forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” (John 15:16). This is something more real
than religion.
Your life as a Christian will be a day-to-day experience of the miraculous if you’d learn to live
by the anointing of the Holy Spirit as the Prophets, Apostles and even the Lord Jesus did in
Bible days.
CONFESSION
God has anointed me with the Holy Spirit and power, and I’m impacting the lives of those in
my world with the presence of God and the Gospel, thereby bringing glory to the Name of the
Lord, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

POSITION YOUR MIND RIGHTLY
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(Romans 12:2)
Our theme verse reveals the required supernatural exercise that causes you to develop in the
God-life, and grow from glory to glory; it’s by the renewing of your mind through the Word.
When your mind is renewed with the Word of God you’ll walk in the perfect will of God; the
reason you must be renewed in the spirit of your mind (Ephesians 4:23).
Your mind is the agency through which your spirit is trained and developed to be a sure-guide.
If it’s blocked, the Word of God can neither access nor get into your spirit. If the Word
doesn’t get into your spirit, you can’t have faith, for faith is the response of the human spirit
to the Word of God. Therefore, every time you study or hear God’s Word, you consciously
have to position your mind rightly for the Word to be effective in you. You have to
synchronize your thoughts with the Word.
The more time you spend meditating on the Word, the more your mind will yield to the Word
and be imparted by it’s power, resulting in a transformation in your life. Hebrews 3:8 warned
us not to harden our hearts against the Word as the Israelites did during their journey from
Egypt to the Promised Land. Many of them couldn’t enter the Promised Land because they
didn’t mix the Word with faith. Many in the Church are suffering today for the same reason;
the Word of God isn’t producing results in their lives because it’s not mixed with faith
(Hebrews 4:2).
Your prosperity and greatness is dependent on the state of your mind. Therefore, position
your mind rightly by renewing it with the Word, so you can think God’s thoughts.
PRAYER
Thank you Father, for my mind is attentive to your Word at all times. Therefore, my spirit is
aglow with the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ; the light of the knowledge of your glory
shines perpetually in my heart, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TRUST IN THE LORD ALWAYS!
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain
riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.
(1 Timothy 6:17).
The story of king Asa of Judah is quite instructive as regards the importance of trusting the
Lord at all times. He was a wonderful man, marvellously helped of God against his enemies
several times. On one occasion, he was completely outnumbered by invading forces; they
came with more than a million soldiers against him. Then, the Bible says, Asa cried unto the
Lord, and God heard him and helped him defeat his enemies (2 Chronicles 14:11-12).
Then few years later, as God prospered him, he became a wealthy king, and there was
another war. This time, Baasha the King of Israel came out against Judah, took some of their
lands, and began to build cities on them. Asa, instead of calling on the Lord as he did
previously went to the King of Syria and offered him money to ally with him against Baasha
the king of Israel. But here is what the prophet of God told him, “…Because thou hast
relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of
the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand” (2 Chronicles 16:7).
This, in fact, is a major problem with those who trust in their money to answer for them in
the day of trouble, instead of trusting in the Lord. The Bible tells us how Asa eventually fell
sick and died: “…Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet,
until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but
to the physicians” (2 Chronicles 16:12). He relied on his money and resorted to the doctors
for help; a rather carnal response. That cost him his life.
Never let anything take your attention away from the Lord. Let the Spirit always come first in
your life. Make it a principle for yourself; a principle to live by, to trust the Lord always.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I’m so grateful to be so blessed by your wisdom today, you’re my light and
the strength of my life! I’ll forever trust in you for help, guidance and to lead me in the path
of victory that you ordained for me before the world began, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Prayer Of Salvation
We trust you have been blessed by this devotional.
We invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life by praying thus:
“O Lord God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. Your Word says, “...whosoever shall
call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).
I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my
spirit and according to Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved,” I declare that I am saved; I am born-again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ
dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)! I now
walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!”
