The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department does not discriminate against
race, gender, religion, or national origin.
FEE WAIVER POLICY
It is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status.
Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) Oct 30 - November 1 from 2:30-4:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions.
Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services.
AGE CONTROL DATE POLICY
Effective immediately,there will be
NO EXCEPTIONS to the Age Control Dates
for ANY sport. No child will be
allowed to play out of his or her age category.
OUT OF COUNTY POLICY
All the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for pro-grams will be required to pay an ad-ditional $10.00 out-of-county fee for each activity, each season or month.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds will not be issued for with-drawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment requirements set by the department, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the registrant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 service charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Pee Wee BasketballThis program helps 4-year-olds get ready for sports by using a step-by-step approach that builds confidence and self-esteem, while making it fun! A parent and/or guardian (over the age of 18) must be present at each session. This program introduces children age 4 for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Along with the basic basketball skills, participants will also learn to develop fundamental motor skills. Each week, exercises become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and the child shows improvement. The class meets at a Bulloch County School Gym (to be determined). Explore Archery Explore Archery is a versatile education activity program tai-lored for youth and families that are interested in being intro-duced to the sport or looking for an activity that includes every-one. Archery is introduced through participation in individual and team-building activities that require fundamental skills, a competitive edge and a bit of creativity – not based on athletic

Tumbling Class Learn basic tumbling skills along with the proper techniques such as: flex-ibility, conditioning and strength training. These are cheerleading-based classes for ages 3 to 12. Age control date is September 1, 2019. Classes are held at the Honey Bowen Building.

Evening Line Dancing Line Dancing is held for ages 16 and up every Monday and Tuesday evening. Classes are held at the Honey Bowen Building. Cost is $2 per visit. No need to register prior to... just show up ready to dance! Lots of fun for all ages!

Piano Lessons Learn the basics of playing the piano. This class is for ages 7 and up and held at the Honey Bowen Building. The 30-minute sessions are held once per week on Fridays between the times of 3-5:30 pm. You will sign up for a specific time when you register for the class.

program for students in the Bulloch County School System, Pre-K through 5th grade.

R.E.C.E.SAfter school care until 4 p.m., Recreation Education Care Every School Day (RECES) is available Monday through Friday beginning at 2:30 p.m.

SpecialistsSBCPRD strives to provide quality individ-ualized care for children with disabilities based on the specific needs of the child. The “Specialists” program is an inclusive pro-gram, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrichment activities which allow chil-dren with disabilities to participate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommodate special needs. Fees for this program are the same as “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S.

Camp Adventure DaysThe Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers full day activities (7:50 a.m. - 6 p.m.) for children who are out of school for breaks and in-service days. Camps are held in various locations and will be on the registration form for each camp. The upcoming full days include the following dates: October 14-18Deadline to register: October 7

Horseback Riding LessonsInterested in horseback riding? Whether you want to ride English or Western saddle, get started with the basics of good riding skills. You can gain so much from riding lessons, such as: patience, compassion, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Lessons are for beginner to intermediate levels.
Rider must be 5 to 18 years old (age control date for horseback riding lessons is September 1, 2019). Helmets and tack will be provided. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably jeans or pants and closed-toed shoes (boots or tennis shoes). Rider will be assigned one day a week with a 45-minute time slot during the entire session.
Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. Session 1: November 18- December 13 (No lessons during Nov 27-29)

Trick or Treat at Mill Creek—October 29: 5 - 7 pmDo you want a safe and fun way to spend Halloween? We have the perfect event for all kids and parents! Mill Creek Park is the place for lots of candy and entertainment! Children can participate in many activities and trick or treat at numerous candy stops. Spon-sored by Coca-Cola, Wing Maxx, Kiwanis Club, Northland Cable, Chick-fil-A, Crazy Nick’s Inflatables, and Statesboro Golf Carts.

Sharks Recreational Swim League For ages 6 – 18.Learn more about the sport of swimming in a fun, friendly competitive environment! Swimmers will gain experience through local swim meets in the Fall/Winter and GRPA meets during the Summer! The swimmers will improve times and techniques from an experienced coach year-round!
