We, the Catholic community of St. Anthony of Padua, relying on the wisdom and the grace of God, unite ourselves to the call for
renewal and transformation of our spiritual, social and economic life
24th Sunday in Ordinary Time - September 16, 2018
Stewardship Reflection ------------------------------------------------------------- “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” (Mark 8:34) When we truly believe that all we have is a gift from God, then we must be willing to give up some things so that we can share our blessings as God intended. Living a Stewardship lifestyle means not only being responsible for our own life, but the lives of others as well.
On October 7, we will be celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Let us unite in spiritual warfare and join with our international brothers
and sisters to pray for our respective nations. All Canadians are invited to pray the Rosary, coast to
coast, wherever they can gather, to pray as families or individuals.

Project Advance Letter from Archbishop Miller Thank you for your gift this year to Project Advance. Your contribution and generosity are greatly appreciated and make a real difference to our Archdiocesan family. Your gift to Project Advance has accomplished a great deal. You have made our community richer in faith and service. You have helped build our churches where we worship, our schools where we educate our youth, and our parish halls where we gather for fellowship and service. You have helped welcome refugee families and reached out to those in need, and you have provided comfort to the marginalized. I am truly grateful for your support and am inspired by the impact you have had on our Catholic community through your participation in Project Advance. If you have not yet made a gift this year, I ask that you consider supporting Project Advance 2018. Your gift will allow your parish to meet its needs and to build a solid foundation for carrying out the Church’s evangelizing mission. Let us continue to give thanks to the Lord for the many blessings of faith, family and treasure that he has bestowed on us. Invoking God’s abundant blessings upon you and your family, I remain, Sincerely yours in Christ, +J. Michael Miller, CSB Archbishop of Vancouver

It's objective is to give participants the skills to share their knowledge with family and friends, and even the ability to lead future scripture studies on their own. This 8 session course will be held only once a month to give time to do work from the workbook and the necessary Scripture reading. There are still workbooks available for $30 if you would like to purchase one. They can be purchased from Ginny, by contacting her at 604-791-7918 (cell) or [email protected].
