Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) causes respiratory tract illness in children. Pulmonary inflammation is a key factor. I found that experimental down-regulation of RSV- and cigarette smoke-induced reactive oxygen species production attenuated the subsequent pulmonary inflammation.
