Students practice strategies f or planning, draf ting, sharing, and rev ising essay s in a v ariety of rhetorical modes. Students apply critical reading skills to the ev aluation of source material in the dev elopment of a thesis-driv en, research-supported essay . To create the research essay , students apply techniques in organizing, dev eloping, and craf ting prose which supports their arguments and balances outside sources with their own v oice as writers.
