FPBK-85 sand filter with filtration rating from 100 to 400 is designed to protect electric submersible centrifugal pumps (ESP) from solids when lifting fluid from a well.
FPBK-85 sand filter can be mounted in two ways:
to the motor base using a disconnector that is supplied upon request;
to the bottom of the motor shroud using an adapter supplied with the shroud.
A sand filter includes a housing, slotted filter (herein-after referred to as the filter element), safety relief valve, liner tubing and centralizer.
The filter element is a stainless steel cylindrical body formed by rectangular and triangular profile wires.
Filter elements are designed to fit the slot width.
The safety relief valve directs fluid flow to pass over the filter when filter element capacity is reduced.
The liner tubing is used to protect the safety relief valve, increase fluid velocity and prevent solids deposition inside the filter.
Advantages: No rotating elements and friction pairs, which
eliminates locking and enhances reliability. Placed below the motor less risk of damage of
the external filter surfaces caused by the power cable while installing/pulling out of the equipment and no filter shading with the cable.

Disconnector:
The disconnector ensures that the fluid flows through the filter due to the sealed annulus. It is selected on the basis of casing ID 146 mm, 168 mm or 178 mm and supplied upon Customer request.
