Pfaudler RT SeriesRT-Series reactors from 20 gallons to 500 gallons are equipped with Pfaudler’s VMXMixer Drive. It provides a versatile, compact,
clean package. The in-line design is composed of a C-faced motor suit-able for inverter service, supported directly on the top of the gearbox. This design allows easier access to the process nozzles. Additional featuresare simple seal changeouts, low maintenance gearboxes, and plated (notpainted) pedestal and gearbox components.
The new standard impeller for small-scalereactors (20 to 200 gallons) is the scalableCurved Blade Turbine (CBT), replacing thetraditional Retreat Curve Impeller (RCI). Process scale-up and scale-down has been made easier and moreaccurate due to the geometric similarities between scalableimpellers and Cryo-Lock® impellers. For the larger RT-Series reac-tors, the standard impeller is the Cryo-Lock Curved Blade Turbine.
The new Concave Baffle provides 15% to 20% increased power investment over competitive offerings. It is provided with our
TMI temperature sensor. The TMI is a spring-loaded temperaturesensor, with no exposed tantalum and no gasketed joint.
Many processes today run at lower tem-peratures. All shells and heads of the RTSeries utilize fine grain carbon steel whichhas significantly improved low temperature characteristics.

The specially formulatedglass lining, fused to a steelsubstrate, is highly corrosionresistant and chemically inert to nearly all substances. It isthe ideal environment for processing ultra-pure products.
Its smooth surface resists adherence by viscous or stickymaterials and cleans easily.
Glasteel is strong. Fusing glass to steel produces a com-posite material with the advantages of glass and strengthof steel. It has a high resistance to impact and thermallyinduced stresses.
Choose from a full line ofPfaudler RT-Series Glasteelreactors, with models rang-
ing from 5 to 500 gallons. These configurations can becustomized to meet specific design requirements.
The RT-Series reactor can replaceexisting standard P-Series and E-Series reactors with minimal piping or support modifications.Additionally, the bottom outlet nozzle projection has been increasedfor easier access.
Since many chemical processestoday require higher pressures, we have increased the internal
pressure rating of our small reactors (5 to 100 gallons) to 150psig. The jacket pressure rating for the small reactors is 125psig. For our larger RT-Series reactors (200 to 500 gallons) theinternal and jacket pressure ratings are 100 psig.
