Monday, April 21 —Brigadier General Kristin K. French (Information taken from Joint Munitions & Lethality (JM&L) LCMC website.)
Brigadier General Kristin K. French is a native of Glen Rock, NJ. She
graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point, in
1986 and was commissioned into the Regular Army as a Lieutenant in
the Quartermaster Corps.
In 2011, she assumed command of the 3rd Sustainment Command
(Expeditionary) at Fort Knox, KY, and in April 2012 deployed the unit to Afghanistan in
support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She relinquished command in June 2013 to move
to Rock Island Arsenal, IL, as Commanding General, Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle
Management Command and Joint Munitions Command.
Her command assignments include Alpha Company, 703rd Main Support Battalion, 3rd Inf
Div (Mech), Kitzingen, Germany; Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd ACR, Fort Carson, CO;
406th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC and 3d Sustainment Cmd (Exp), Fort
Knox, KY.
Her key staff assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, 565th
Repair Parts Company; Adjutant/S-1, 553rd Supply and Service Battalion, 13th COSCOM,
Fort Hood, TX; Class I Officer, Division Materiel Management Center and DISCOM S-4, 3rd
Inf Div (Mech), Kitzingen, Germany; Class IX Officer, Corps Materiel Management Center,
1st COSCOM, Fort Bragg, NC; Support Operations Officer, 26th Forward Support Battalion,
Division Materiel Officer, Division Materiel Management Center and Deputy G-4, 3rd Inf
Div (Mech), Fort Stewart, GA; Operations Officer/S-3, 43rd Area Support Group, Fort
Carson, CO; Assistant Chief of Staff, G4, 4th Inf Div (Mech), Fort Hood, TX; Executive
Officer to the Director, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, VA; and Military Advisor to
the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness in the Office of the
Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon.
Her military education includes Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Quartermaster
Officer Advanced Course, a Masters Degree in Logistics Management, Logistics Executive
Development Course and Florida Institute of Technology, Fort Lee, VA; Command and
General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS; and a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies, US
Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, PA.
BG French has deployed to Operation Joint Endeavour (Croatia), Operation Desert Fox
(Kuwait), Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).
Her awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star
Medal with Oak Leaf Clover, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service
Medal with four Oak Leaf Clovers, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army
Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Clover. She has also
earned the Parachutist Badge.

QC River Bandits Spring Social—May 28
Let’s celebrate a successful Rotary year with a night at the
River Bandits. Rotarians and their families are invited to a
night of baseball and fellowship on Wednesday, May 28 as
the River Bandits face off against the Benoit Snappers.
Game starts at 7:00 PM with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
The committee has reserved the Sky Deck for the game. In case you aren’t
familiar with the Sky Deck, it is climate controlled and located on the suite level along the 3rd base
line. Rotarians can purchase tickets for a discounted price of $15 per person and includes game
ticket and ball park menu (hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, baked beans, chips, potato salad, cookie, ice
cream sandwiches, soda, water and lemonade). Children 3 and under are free. All other children
will need to purchase a ticket. RSVP by Monday, May 12 to Johanna at [email protected]
if you to attend. Tickets must be paid for in advance and will be available for pick up at “will call”
the night of the game.
