REGISTRATION OF FIRMRegistration means getting the partnership registered with the registrar of firm of the area in which the place of business of the firm is situated or proposed to be situated.

Steps involved in registration of firm:

1. Obtain a stmt in a prescribed form from the office of the registrar of firms of the area in which the place of the business of the firm is situated or proposed to be situated.

2. State the following information in the stmt:a. The name of the firmb. The principal place of the firmc. The names of the other places where the firm carries on the businessd. The date when each partner join the firme. The names in full and permanent addresses of each prtnerf. The duration of the firm

3. Get the stmt duly verified and signed by all the partners or by their authorised agents4. File the stmt along with prescribed fees with the registrar of firm of the area5. Obtain a certificate from the registrar. When the registrar is satisfied and provision of

section 58 have been duly complied with he shall record an entry of the stmt in the register called “register of firms” and file the stmt. He shall then issue the certificate of registration. If anything change in future, then the change should be informed to the registrar.
