Dear Rebeleers,
For many of us, the time we spent as members of the East Hardin Rebeleer Band are some of our
most cherished memories. It was both an honor and a privilege to be a part of such a special group, and
we hope you will join the Rebeleer Family on June 16, 2012, as we celebrate 28 years of hard work,
award-winning performances, and life-long friendships. Anyone who was ever a member of the band is
invited! Spouses, family members, and friends of the band are also welcome to join us.
Many of you know that Chuck Campbell, the founding band director of the Rebeleers, passed away in
2011. Sadly, Chuck will not be able to attend the reunion, but he will be honored, along with the other
directors who led the way through the years. There will be a silent auction of many of Chuck’s keepsakes
from his years at East Hardin. The auction will benefit the American Cancer Society. We have so many
neat things planned, and will continue to add to the list as we hear back from you. We want to know
about special memories you have, and about volunteers, bus-drivers, and faithful supporters who hold a
special place in your heart.
PICTURES!! We need pictures! We prefer that you scan them and send them via email, as it will be a
little more difficult for us to manage the hard copies and get them returned to you, but if that’s the only
option you have, you can mail them to the address on the registration form and then pick them up that
night. If any of you happen to have access to old contest reel-to-reels, audio or video tapes, or any
recordings of any type, please let us know! The more you help us, the more special the reunion will be!
We also hope that you will bring mementos…contest programs, scrapbooks, flags, trophies…anything
you have that people would enjoy seeing. We will have tables set up to display whatever you bring, and
hopefully you can arrive a little early so we can get your items displayed.
We have made every effort to keep the cost reasonable, and it does include a catered meal by The
Whistle Stop Restaurant in Glendale. We are hoping there will be money left over so that we can make
a donation to the East Hardin Middle School Band. While we wish this could have been held at East
Hardin, due to size limitations and some other issues, we have decided to hold the reunion at the
Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. The response has already been great! PLEASE COME,
and encourage your friends and classmates to do the same! We know that it’s always easy to talk
ourselves out of going to reunions. Don’t let any of those silly reasons cause you to miss a night that
promises to be truly special!
Sincerely,
The Rebeleer Reunion 2012 Planning Committee
