PARLEY’S INTERCHANGE
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by UDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated January 17, 2017, and executed by FHWA and UDOT
UDOT has released the Draft EIS for a 45-day public review and comment
period. The Draft EIS analysis showed that two alternatives (Alternatives A
and B) met all of the UDOT evaluation criteria of reducing delay and meeting
UDOT safety standards. Alternatives A and B would reduce travel delay
by 40% and 47%, respectively, during the morning peak period, and both
alternatives would reduce travel delay by 69% in the afternoon peak period.
UDOT selected Alternative B as their Preferred Alternative because it would
provide the greatest reduction in travel delay in the morning peak period and
have a lower cost.
Full results of the evaluation in the Draft EIS can be found on the
project website: udot.utah.gov/parleysEIS

ABOUT THE PARLEY’S INTERCHANGE
GET INVOLVED
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is preparing the Parley’s
Interchange Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate the short-
and long-term needs of the I-80/I-215 eastside interchange. The purpose
of the study is to improve safety, reduce congestion, improve regional
mobility and update the current design of the interchange.
