Problem• Very difficult to search for information on Tufts

websites• No centralized search, a lot of separate search

systems• Google results do not cater to users searching for

specific information about Tufts

Objectives• Develop a prototype of a website for searching

of buildings, people, and websites• Investigate different views of the data and

assess designs with user testing• Serve as a foundation of research for future

implementation by TTS

Backend Design

UI Design ProgressionStep 1: Survey Findings• Most survey takers were students• 50.98% thought that homepages of Tufts websites link to

information they needed • However, hard to navigate to the information• Some used Google because it was faster• Hard to find phone number and office

Step 2: First Set of WireframesWith inspiration from MIT’s website, Stanford’s website and Tufts JumboSearch

Step 3: MockupsWith feedback from design review with TTS and usability tests

Step 4: Final Implementation

Conclusion/Future Directions• Our product demonstrates efficacy of combining

results from White Pages, Tufts Maps, and AccessTufts

• Improve speed of application• Find better way to rank results• Responsive visual design on mobile
