Site Erection Activities
Since 1953, the Heurtey Petrochem Group has builta strong and valuable expertise in the design andfabrication of thousands of process firedheaters, cracking furnaces as well as reformers, withcapacities ranging from 20 000 to over 200 millionkcal/hour, operating at pressures up to 300 bars andtemperatures up to 1 200°C.
The Heurtey Petrochem Group is “technologyneutral”, it uses its own technology and in-housedesign tools for the conceptual design of firedheaters. The company is also experienced andqualified with major process licensors :

Context of the job
In the early 90s’, the Petrokemya Olefins Project was to be conducted in a quite unstable period of time The
(2 heaters per module) on the Antwerp yard.
In the early 90s , the Petrokemya Olefins Project was to be conducted in a quite unstable period of time. Themost appropriate solution to execute the contract was to minimize fabrication activities in the Gulf region aswell as site erection work. The Group offered to Petrokemya to design and supply the 10 cracking furnacesin 5 modules, prefabricated in Antwerp, Belgium to be shipped on a large semi-submersible barge to SaudiArabia. The completion with the project schedule has been guaranteed and fully met.
Scope Sea Transportation ConstraintsScope
The 5 modules of 2 heaters each wereentirely prefabricated, equipped and testedin Europe with all the auxiliariesequipment, instruments, piping andwiring, including lighting fixtures.
Sea Transportation Constraints
Each modules centre of gravity is located 19 meters (60feet) above ground level and increases the challenge ofsea transportation. Each module was rolled from theyard to the deck of the semi-submersible heavy lift vesselby mean of 4 hydraulic height controlled trailers.g g g g y y g

Revamping Activities
Revamping contracts contribute to thedemonstration of Heurtey Petrochem’sparticular skills in management, schedulecontrol and turn-around experience.
BEFORE AFTER
The Group also acts as a decision-helperand produces process design studies aimingto improve the thermal efficiency or thecapacity of heaters.
The Group has established a long-term

Environment ProtectionHeurtey Petrochem’s equipment is designed and builtin full compliance with the environmental codes andstandards and particularly focuses on the followingnuisances :
Noise limitationCombination of ceramic fiber (on hot face) andconcrete in the construction of furnace walls, togetherwith a proper muffling of air intakes.
Heurtey Petrochem has a considerable experience inGermany, where noise levels are governed by stringenty g y gregulations.
CO and NOx emissionsDepending on project requirements, HeurteyPetrochem can combine the following actions in orderto limit the CO and NOx emissions levels:
OMAN AROMATICS - 2007
Proper and well-controlled operation of the heatersUse of low NOx burnersImplementation of a deNOx system on the flue gases.
The P2R Unit
The group has developed a new concept forpreventing Marine Oil Pollution. The Petroleum ResidueRecycling (P2R) brings an innovative solution to marinewaste processing.
