Staff at Albert Street Gardens arethrilled to be recognised for theircustomer service and business

excellence as part of the 2013 CGUBanjo Business Awards.

Property and business manager GregStokes believes the nomination isrecognition for their hard work andprogress since the new team took overthe business in 2010/2011.

"This nomination has come from thepeople who actually live at the village soit's the best possible nomination youcan receive," he said.

"We're very pleased that the peoplethat live and eat here are happy with theservices that we're providing."

Mr Stokes gave special mention toon-site manager David Elliott andChenelle Mitchell.

"We have space for up to 60residents and when we started out in2010/2011 we had only 24 residents, which we have almost doubled. So that

tells us we're doing a good job andwe're moving towards our goal of beingat full capacity," he said.

Mr Stokes believes what makesAlbert Street Gardens different toretirement villages is the fact they offera lot more flexibility for their residents.

"There's a number of things, we offerrental accommodation for seniors for longand short-term stays that don't requireany up-front deposit or exit fees.Residents can leave with as little as threeweeks notice and we also accept peoplewith physical impairments," he said.

"We also have on-site chefs thatprepare meals for the residents who caneat the meals in the dining room or inthe comfort of their own units. At aretirement village they wouldn't getthose choices."
