Forces and Angular Velocity Combined

The forces f or each leg f rom time zero up to the maximum angular velocity was summed to get a quantitative estimate of the role of each leg in the initial phrase of the turn.

Pixel Counting!

Each optical signal consists of a clover leaf-shapped light pattern. The amount of light for each of the four lobes are proportional to the amount of force being exerted. The ratios of the number of pixels in each quadrant reflects the direction of the push. When a crosshair is placed on a detected optical signal, the Forces program automatically counts and records the number of pixels in each quadrant, as well as the coordinates of the crosshair.
