1. PHEMTACommittee–anupdate

FollowingtheelectioninAugust/September,PHEMTAhavenowmadeplanstoensurecontinuityoftherepresentationandworkthatwedountilJanuary2017.Asweannouncedlastmonth,wehavenewrepresentatives–ZoeSmeedandJimBlackburn–whohavetakenuptheCurriculumandTrainingCommitteeRepresentativerolesfromlateSeptember.Inaddition,CamillaWaugh,aPHEMtraineeinWales,approachedPHEMTAabouttheViceChairroleaftertheelection.InlinewiththePHEMTATermsofReference,andaneedtoreplaceJamesChinerytheoutgoingViceChairwhoneededtostepdown,thePHEMTACommitteeunanimouslyagreedtoco-optCamillaintotheroleuntilJanuary2017.CamillaintendstostandforelectiontothePHEMTACommitteeinthenextround(seebelow).Wewouldliketotakethisopportunitytowelcomeher–shehastakenontherunningandreportingofthebi-annualPHEMTASurveysoyouwillhearmorefromherinthecomingmonths.Finally,ScottGrier(Chair)andJonBirks(AssessmentsCommitteeRepresentative)haveofferedtostayonintheirPHEMTArolesbeyondtheirtenuresuntilJanuary2017inorderthatPHEMTAmaycontinuetofunction.Again,thisproposalwasunanimouslyagreedbythePHEMTACommittee.BothScottandJonwillbesteppingdowninJanuary2017regardlessofwhetherreplacementsareavailable.2. PHEMTAelection

ThenextelectionofmemberstothePHEMTACommitteewillruninthecomingmonth.Therearethreepoststofill,asdescribedabove–Chair,ViceChair,AssessmentsCommitteeRepresentative.YouareeligibletostandforelectionifyouareacurrenttraineeorhavecompletedPHEMinthepast2years(ie.afterAugust2014).TheAssessmentsCommitteeRepresentativemustholdtheFIMCandthusbepost-PHEMtraining.
