MATHLETICS
• Your son’s subscription to this programme is a 24hour/7day subscription. Therefore the boys can access Mathletics at home and earn points toward certificates. Teachers will be able to check what they have worked on in their own time.
Homework
As per Student Diary
• Year 7 – 9 will be expected to complete between 40 and 75 minutes of homework per night
• Homework is issued on a nightly / weekly basis

• Open during lunchtimes– There will be a quiet area for silent work
• 3pm to 4pm Tuesday – Friday– Research, assignment preparation,
homework, borrowing and reading– Not child-minding
Camps
• Middle School Moreton Island Camp – Week 9, Term 3 – Fishing, swimming, snorkelling, 4WD
touring, orienteering, sand tobogganing, climbing sand dunes, games, living together, washing up, and many more exciting experiences
– Extension program for Year 9

Focus is different in each Year level
• Yr 7 – Personal Hygiene• Yr 8 – Nutrition• Yr 9 – Drug Education• All Grades – Personal Development and

Representative Sport
• Boys can represent MBBC at District, Met East and State Level
• Yr 7 is still Primary (Wynnum and Lytton District)
• Yr 8, 9 is Secondary School (Gateway District and Metropolitan East)
• All representative sports are by nomination through Sports Coordinator (MBBC)
Parent Involvement• Class Parent Representative
– Point of contact between class parents and P&F, teachers, other parents
– Mobilisation and organisation and of support for special activities such as Carnival Day, night and other social activities
• Support-a-Reader (from 30 mins/week)
– Support readers from Years 1 – 10– Training provided – Wed 13 Feb 3pm
