La restructuration de l’Institut de Chimie Moléculaire de l’Université de Bourgogne (ICMUB - UMR 6302) m’a permis à
l’occasion du passage de l’AERES en février 2011 de prendre la responsabilité de l’axe « Organométallique et Catalyse » à
partir de janvier 2011 (15 permanents et 15 étudiants, noté A globalement, et A+ sur le volet « Qualité scientifique »). Pour
2009-2012 puis 2012-2015 l’ANR a soutenu deux projets indépendants dont je suis le porteur. Pour l’année 2016 mon
groupe est porteur (2) ou associé à 1 ANR (PRCI Hybridiams – Allemagne ; PRC Icare-1 LCC-ENSCIACET ; PRC Alcatras-
INSC Rennes)

J’ai eu l’opportunité d’intervenir sous les trois formes pédagogiques (CM, TD, TP) dès mon recrutement comme Maître de Conférences. J’ai aussi effectué le suivi scientifique d’étudiants placés en entreprise (25 étudiants sur 2000-2009) et participé à la délivrance de leur diplôme d’ingénieur. La majeure partie de mon enseignement a été effectuée en L3 et M1/M2 ces dernières années. La chimie organique (CM/TD/TP), la chimie des polymères (CM/TD) et la chimie analytique et minérale (TP) ont constitué une part importante de mon enseignement en cursus classique ; la chimie organométallique et la catalyse ont été présenté en formation continue et aux entreprises (Solvay-Fournier, UCB Pharma).
J’ai refondé l’ensemble des cours magistraux dont j’ai la charge, dont le cours de Chimie Organique de L1 commun aux UFR Science et Techniques et Sciences de la vie (450 à 500 étudiants), L2 Chimie Organique SV, celui de Chimie Organique de L3 Sciences Physique, chimie industrielle et appliquée de L3 Chimie. Puis, ceux de M2 recherche CMPP Hétérochimie (phosphore, bore, silicium) et catalyse au palladium.
L’École Doctorale Carnot de Bourgogne (Chimie, Physique, Mathématique) en adéquation avec mon parcours de recherche m’a confié l’élaboration de deux séminaires pour les doctorants 1ère année sur les Matériaux Moléculaires pour le Dépôt Chimique Phase Vapeur, et la Catalyse Moléculaire et Industrielle (20 h). Lors de ce module de DOCTORAT je suis particulièrement attentif à la formation des doctorants à la valorisation de leurs travaux jusqu’à la partie finale de publication qui peut être un point faible de la formation « à la française » en comparaison des systèmes Allemands ou Nord-Américains. Ainsi, à partir de publications internationales prises dans les thématiques du séminaire mais hors de leur sujet de thèse, nous décortiquons l’écriture de publication avec l’accent mis sur l’articulation de la démonstration : introduction / état de l’art du sujet / apport des nouvelles découvertes / mise en valeur et rigueur de la démonstration / perspectives. J’insiste sur ce savoir-faire car il est essentiel pour la visibilité de la recherche française, souvent de qualité équivalente au pays cités au-dessus mais ne disposant pas des mêmes atouts de publications (ACS et Wiley). Ainsi, le doctorant plus qu’un exécutant expérimental des « idées » du « patron » se trouve mis devant la nécessité de devenir le docteur c.à.d. « l’expert » du domaine qu’il développe de A à Z, avec l’effort de mise en perspective et de valorisation de ses travaux qu’il s’approprie. Je conçois donc l’activité pédagogique universitaire globale comme un glissement progressif du système « scolaire » de L1-L2 (acquisition des fondamentaux, Plan de réussite en Licence) vers la responsabilisation et le développement d’une méthodologie rigoureuse et d’un projet personnel en L3-M2, pour finir par la formation doctorale D1-D3 visant à produire les chercheurs de demain alliant rigueur/excellente connaissance/esprit de synthèse et créativité.

Les masters professionnels tels que le CAC (contrôle et analyse chimique) et QESIS (Qualité environnement et Sécurité dans l’Industrie et les Services) sont des formations incluses dans la mention de Master que j’ai piloté jusqu’en 2016 et dans lesquelles j’interviens (en TP ou TD), et que je conseille pour les étudiants souhaitant une formation professionnelle à Bac +5. Cependant, mon discours est volontariste concernant la nécessité de la formation de cadres de haut niveau par la recherche, même si leurs débouchés peuvent être autres in fine. C’est l’un des credo de l’Association Bernard Gregory dont je suis l’un des trois correspondants à l’Université de Bourgogne. J’ai œuvré à regrouper l’ensemble des parcours de Master de Chimie sous une seule mention solidaire et collaborative.

Responsable de la mention de Master CHIMIE (2017-) : 5 parcours /120 étudiants– évalué+ HCERES 2016 Politique établie : Sur la base d’un socle de connaissances en Sciences Chimiques, le diplôme destine à l’activité de cadre et cadre supérieur scientifique, d’un niveau débutant (technicien supérieur), confirmé (ingénieur) ou expert (docteur), de l’entreprise et des services publics dans une diversité de domaines stratégiques regroupant de manière ascendante la recherche, le développement, la conception, la production, l’analyse, la qualité, l’hygiène et la sécurité. Un continuum indispensable à l’Entreprise moderne. Selon le parcours choisi la compétence chimique de base (M1) sera complétée par une expertise à choisir parmi les suivantes : M2 de recherche (matériaux ou molécules), M2 d’écoconception focalisé sur la matière plastique, M2 de contrôle et analyse chimique, M2 de qualité, l’hygiène, sécurité et l’environnement dans l’Industrie et les services (QHS).
