PADI open water course package enables you to, dive to a depth no greater than 18 meters independently with a certified buddy that has the equivalent or higher level certification while applying the knowledge and skills that you learned during the PADI Diving course.

You have 2 (two) options to get certified for the PADI Open Water Diver course in Kota Kinabalu. Option 1: The the traditional approach. You spend half day (up to 4 hours) sitting and watching course video in classroom followed by two diving days. Recommended for single travelers or couples.

Option 2: This is where you try diving first and if you like it, you come back in the afternoon to watch the DVD and complete your knowledge reviews, then you get two more days of diving.
This option is especially advised for group bookings or generally anyone that wants more dive time.

What It Takes To Be Certified
PADI Open Water scuba diving course consists of 3 sections.
Confined water dives 1 -5 and 1 mini dive.
Knowledge development 1 5.
Open water dives 1 4 and dive flexible skills.
You will need to complete all sections to be certified as an PADI Open Water scuba diver.
If you complete confined open water dives 1 3, knowledge development 1 3, and open water dives 1 & 2, then you will be certified as a PADI Scuba Diver.

Pre Requisites
PADI Open Water Divers need to be physically fit.
Complete a diver medical.
Sign all liability release forms.
Complete a 200 meter swimming test.
A 10 minute survival float.
Minimum age Requirement is 10 years for the Junior Open Water (need parent or guardian consent) and 15 for the Open Water Diver certification.
