AIR WE O!A RAFT of new contracts worth more than
4.5million at Glasgow International Airport have
been won by Pacific.
The projects are part of a significant investment at
Glasgow in advance of next years CommonwealthGames and they will see our teams working flat-out
through to the end of the year and beyond.
This boost is further proof that Pacific are the team to
beat at airports, particularly at Glasgow and Edinburgh,
where we have permanent presences and staff who have
the requisite skills to operate effectively and safely.
In February, Glasgow Airport announced details of a
multi-million pound makeover programme.
Almost 10million of investment has been broughtforward to be spent during 2013 in addition to
7million already committed on refurbishing and
enhancing key parts of the main terminal building,
including international arrivals

Message from MD

BUSINESS is hotting for Pacific as the cold days
of winter beckon and the warm days of summer
melt away in the memory.
And we will all have to be at our best to capiltalise on
the raft of significant projects that are stretching out
before us.
From November, our busiest period
on record will unfold running
through to March next year as we
commence several major projects that
we have secured at Glasgow Airport, as
we deliver the winter programme for
McDonalds side-by-sides and as we
upgrade Mitchells & Butlers units right
across Scotlands central belt.
Glasgow International Airport is
undergoing a major transformation in advance of both
the Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup.
Both events are expected to see a huge increase in the
number of arriving and departing passengers, all of
whom will be treated to the gleaming new concepts which
will be undertaken by Pacific.
Projects include a fully upgraded and extendedinternational arrivals area, a significantly extended and
fully refitted tax and duty-free area, an upgraded check-in
area and fully refitted and extended washroom facilities
across the entire airport.
Meanwhile, McDonalds are seeing excellent returns
on the new side-by-side concept on their
drive-thru estate, and we have 14 of them
planned to be completed between now and
the end of March. We are also beginning to
see their plans for upgrade work to takeplace in the new year.
Mitchells & Butlers have 10 projects with our
name on it that are planned to be
undertaken during the winter months across
their various brands.
We will also be working in the St Enoch Centre,
undertaking upgrade works to the HMV store
All of this is great news, particularly following a quiet
summer. So, the pressure is on each and every one of us
to make sure that delivery, quality, safety and customer
service are at their peak and we perform at the highest
level in order that we can look back with an incredibleamount of pride in our achievements.

A total of 140 guests turned up
to share the new couples big day
and to wish them well.
Greg and Katy then had a
dream honeymoon in the United
States, comprising 10 days in Las
Vegas and four days in San
Francisco. Greg, who joined Pacific
Building at the beginning of this
year, needed all the cash he could
get for the Vegas leg of his trip, so
he was grateful for the generous
wedding gift of spending money
given by his colleagues.
He said: Katy and I had an
