Holy Family Parish Mission - Fanning the Flame this Lent. We warmly welcome all to join
us in hearing Fr. Rob Arsenault, a priest with the Companions of the Cross from Ottawa who
will guide us in discovering more fully the flame within each one of us. Light refreshments and
fellowship to follow each night. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday March 4, 5 and 6 at 7 pm, Holy
Family Catholic Church, Hanover.
Share Lent - Together for Peace. As we follow the profiles of the community projects in Leb-
anon and Nigeria from the Development and Peace handbook we see the need to give the local
people a voice for their personal safety and rights. We feel devalued if we are not given an op-
portunity to express our personal and social needs. The residents of Lebanon and Nigeria have
the same needs to express themselves to protect their livelihood and well being. Unfortunately
many of the local people are not valued, thus left with no way to respond to the injustices in-
flicted upon them. Building authentic peace is about hearing what each other’s needs are and
creating a process to achieve Peace. We have a right and a responsibility to ensure that we pro-
mote peace at home and abroad by allowing the most vulnerable a process to express their
needs. The prayer card attached to last week’s bulletin has the Prayer of St. Francis, use it as a
tool to pray for peace at home and throughout the world.

transforming mercy, Jesus makes our heart one with his. "He proposes his own example to
those who come to him, that all may learn to be like himself, gentle and humble of heart, and to
seek not their own interest but those of God." (Pope Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei)
Lenten Food Drive - helping to feed our neighbours .... Sacred Heart CWL is coordinating a
Parish Food Drive until March 11. Our theme, "make it a meal." We are asking parishioners to
donate a meal - specifically pasta sauce and whole wheat spaghetti noodles or a box of pancake
mix (add water only) and maple syrup. Let's fill the grocery carts and see how many meals our
Parish can provide to those in need as we consider our almsgiving during the solemn season of
Lent.
