Our culinary staff can customize food and beverage to accommodate your needs. Enjoy delicious cuisine from barbecues to gourmet plated dinners, professionally prepared by people who are passionate for food and making your day unforgettable.

We offer two separate facilities for you to choose from, as well as the spacious grounds in the base area.

Executive Chef Joe Cole is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. From Restaurants in New York to the Creole kitchens of New Orleans, Joe has spent three-and-a-half decades working around the country in numerous restaurants, honing his skills, from Fine Dining to Casual, from Ca-tering to Banquets, and even an actual stint as a real Baker. Since October of 1998, the very year Tim and Diane Mueller leased Mount Sunapee from the State, Joe has assisted the Culinary Team grow from serving a simple cafeteria during the winter months to catering a summer wedding venue that rivals any other in New England; not just because of the scenic vistas, but the top quality food and service you would expect on your wedding day.

12-18 months prior- Announce your engagement!- Determine wedding budget and establish top priorities--where to save/where

to splurge- Select your wedding party- Create initial guest list (this will help with creating estimates at venue)- Compare calendars and select tentative date/month- Arrange site tour to view ceremony sites & reception locations with Mount

Sunapee- Discuss available dates with venue- Select wedding date- Book location (sign contract & submit deposit)- Begin looking at the menu & bar options- Attend premarital classes, if desired- Research vendors (DJs/bands, photographers/videographers, florists and

bakeries)- Take engagement photos (great time to try out a photographer you are

thinking of booking!)- Send a copy to local papers for announcement if you wish- Research honeymoon options if you plan on going immediately after wedding

10-12 months prior- Create wedding blog or website (many free providers online—include items

such as wedding date, venue information, and local lodging accommodations)- Book photographer (create a photo must have list)- Book entertainment—DJ or band- Choose wedding colors (this can be used for bridal attire, décor accents &

linen color)- Start composing a day-of timeline- Source an officiant/book an officiant- Confirm ceremony start time- Choose type of music for ceremony (base has electricity, summit a portable

amp is needed)- Shop for wedding dress & bridal party attire (we suggest you to wear flats or

wedge shoes for outside ceremony locations—plan at least 2 dress fittings)- Set a room block with local lodging properties for your guests

6-9 months prior- Select wedding rings- Choose ceremony decorations and let Mount Sunapee know your plans

(flowers, arbor, unity candle, sand ceremony, etc.)- Book the bakery (plan a taste testing beforehand)- Book the florist (meet with them to go over your ideas)- Arrange transportation (if you plan to rent a limo for you and the bridal

party/a shuttle service for your guests)- Finalize guest list- Source out wedding registries (it is suggested you select at least 3 retailers)- Send out Save-the-Dates (don’t forget to include a link to your website/blog)- Look into invitation options & wording then purchase them- Choose wedding favors- Book lodging for the two of you for your wedding night/night prior - Begin making or planning decorations for the reception (photos for bar case,

cocktail table centerpieces, the guest book, card box, etc.)

3-5 months prior- Plan rehearsal dinner—the location & those attending- Plan a meeting with the photographer and DJ to ensure all details & questions

are attended to - Confirm ceremony rehearsal time with Mount Sunapee- View local salons & make-up artists options and plan a trial run with the one

you choose - Review floorplan templates with Mount Sunapee (we can provide an

electronic version of the floorplan templates)- Order favors for guests and bridal party gifts, if desired- Send your event schedule to the vendors (this allows time for any needed

tweaks and feedback)

Two months prior- Confirm menu selections & hosted or cash bar with Mount Sunapee - Write wedding vows, if necessary- Create a printed menu and/or a program for guests, if desired - Finalize rehearsal dinner plans- Review playlist with band or DJ

Two months prior (cont.)- Send out invitations (general rule of thumb—mail invitations no sooner than

6 to 8 weeks before the wedding, and set the RSVP cutoff at three weeks prior to the wedding)

- Plan how to display seating arrangements—a physical seating chart display, escort cards or place cards

- Choose who will be toasting/giving a speech (let Mount Sunapee know how many and roughly how long—we recommend each toast is no longer than 5 minutes—short & sweet!)

- Finalize day-of timeline & send to all vendors

One month prior- 50% estimated balance of bill is due to Mount Sunapee (we can take a check

in the mail or credit card transaction over the phone)- Assign seating entering returned RSVPs into your seating arrangement plan

& begin reaching out to those you have not heard from- Let those attending the ceremony rehearsal know timing- Let those attending the dinner rehearsal know timing and location- Confirm where the wedding party will be getting before the ceremony &

transportation to ceremony location- Get your marriage license (process can take up to 6 days—best to plan ahead

and order several copies)- Touch base with all vendors (ensuring all questions have been answered,

tentative arrival times are confirmed, and information is in final planning phase—Mount Sunapee will reach out to the DJ, florist and bakery to confirm arrival times the day of & ensure all questions of venue have been answered)

Two weeks prior- Confirm final guest count with Mount Sunapee (how many adults and

children—don’t forget to include vendors and yourselves!)- Confirm final seating arrangements and send with full guest list to Mount

Sunapee

Two weeks prior (cont.)- Prepare seating chart/escort cards/place cards- Decide who will decorate & who will be picking up décor the morning after

(we ask that you take anything of value the night of and we can arrange a time the morning after for pickup of remaining items)

One week prior- Remaining balance of bill is due to Mount Sunapee (we can take a check

in the mail or credit card transaction over the phone—hosted bar tabs are processed the night of the wedding)

- Ensure all other vendor payments are taken care of- Get manicure, pedicure and massage, if desired- Begin packing wedding day items—items going to lodging and items to

mountain- Deliver décor to Mount Sunapee- Ceremony & dinner rehearsal (typically evening prior)

The Wedding Day- Your day has arrived! (you may be nervous but try to eat breakfast & drink

plenty of fluids)- Ensure best man has the rings- Attend hair/makeup appointment (wear a button down shirt so you do not

smudge your makeup or ruin your hair when changing to formal clothes)- Relax, smile and soak in every incredible moment of your day!!

Post Wedding Day- Pick up any remaining wedding décor at Mount Sunapee - Preserve wedding dress & bouquet- Open wedding gifts—write and mail thank you cards- Enjoy wedding bliss!
