Since1999,Dr.Atileshaspresentedmore
than71invitedlecturestoundergraduateandgraduatestudentsinvariousacademicareasatUGAandUniversityofVeracruz,Mexico.Dr.Atileshasservedonsevengraduatestudentcommitteesasacommitteemember.
Atilesreceivedhisdoctoratedegreein
housing,interiordesignandresourcemanagementandmaster‘sdegreeinurbanandregionalplanningfromVirginiaPolytechnicInstituteandStateUniversity.Heearnedabachelorofarchitecturedegreefromthe

Affordablehousingeducationprograms,
naturalgaseducationforconsumers,waterqualityandenergyconservation,weatherizationandeducationhavebeenthefocusofAtiles'areasofextensionandoutreachwork.Hehasalsoconductedresearchinworkforcehousing,energyconservationandliteracy,communityandhousingdevelopmentandhousingfinance.

usingtheUpperBodyCenter-of-Mass(UBCOM)&LowerBodyCenter-of-Mass(LBCOM)dynamicsduringtherecoveryeffortfromaslipperyperturbationunderdifferentarmrestrictionconditions.Thefindingsshowedthatindividualswereabletorecoverbetterwhentheirarmswerenotrestricted.Also,theelderlyfallerswereunableto‘catchup’bymovingtheirUBCOMquicklytokeepupwiththeLBCOM.Ontheotherhand,youngernon-fallerswereabletohaveahigherdifferenceinvelocitiesbetweentheUBCOMandLBCOM,andstill‘catchup’successfully.
