Lodging Rate Methodology
Federal lodging rates are based on the Average Daily Rate (ADR) (derived by using actual lodging industry data that shows the average rate that rooms rent in a given area)
Hotel & Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990
We only use mid-priced properties when looking a particular location
44
Lodging Rate Methodology
• ADR data used is from a 12-month period (April through March)
• ADR data used is from the business travel week (Monday through Thursday)
• Ceilings and Floors ($49)
55
FY10 Annual Lodging Review
• ADR data revealed many lodging markets are now being affected by the current economic downturn
• OMB revalidated our current methodology for setting lodging rates, which reflect the marketplace and is based on industry-provided data.
