OBLIGATIONS OF THE EMPLOYER TO THE CONSULTING ENGINEER

I. Providing necessary finances and assets to enable the Consulting Engineer perform his duties

effectively and expeditiously.

II. Ensuring that his other employees cooperate with the Consulting Engineer, to enable the Engineer

to perform his work efficiently and effectively.

III. Providing the Consulting Engineer with necessary documentations required by the Engineer, in

order for him to carry out his functions.

IV. Listening and considering technical advice of the consulting Engineer, on issues which relate to

design; here a redesign or modification of current design may be necessary.

V. Giving the Consulting Engineer full authority to exercise his professional duties. This authority

may be limited to the conditions set in the contract, and may include power to modify designs for

technical reasons.

VI. The Employer is obligated to remunerate the Consulting Engineer for his services. This should be

in accordance to the rate agreed in the contract.

VII. The employer should be responsible for the welfare of the Consulting Engineer, ensure he has

access to the site and also address issues such as his security.
