SHABBY CHIC, ROMANTIC,
OR FRENCH COUNTRY?
What style are you? Could you be defined as shabby chic, romantic cottage,
French country or an eclectic mix of all of these? I have a dear friend who
absolutely loves the whole shabby chic lifestyle. He is drawn to anything that has
softened edges, tattered lace or a well-worn bit of chippy paint. With him, it is
understood that perfection is boring! (I must say I wholeheartedly agree.)
If given the choice, I believe he would live in an expansive Victorian home with
dozens of tiny rooms that he could decorate to the hilt with any item that tickled
his fancy. The porches would overflow with comfortable seating where he would
entertain his guests. Each chair would be ever so comfy and the color palate
always soft. Oh, and we must not forget the gardensa flowing menagerie of sweet smells and eye candy around every twist and turn of the floral magnificence
he would create. The estates grounds would be a glorious display of everything happy. What a beautiful place it would be. Perhaps, someday, hell have his dream. I certainly hope so!
Do you enjoy the shabby styles too? If so, we have a plethora of choices at
Norwood. Stop by to see what we have in stock. Youll be pleased with our selection. Stop by soon! Happy shopping!!!

Ball #13 Jars Rare or Not Part I
I think we can all agree the Ball #13 Jar
is an elusive character. Theyre not easy to locate and when one is found, theres often a pretty price to pay to obtain it.
They are bound by legend that
moonshiners used mason jars to store and
transport their product. All legends begin with a shred of truth.
As superstition would have it, the number 13 is considered to be back luck.
Anything associated with this number
could cause a series of unfortunate events that no moonshiner wanted to be a part of
and so the story goesfamilies gathered together to share stories of the past. As
tales have been told and passed down from one generation to the next; one
thing remained a constant part of the
story.
It is said that moonshiners would do just
about anything to break bad karma. When they happened upon a jar with the
unlucky number 13 on the base it was
broken and tossed into the fire. This is
why the jars are a rare commodity.
Sounds logical, right? Well, maybe.
Part II can be found in next months newsletter.
