EDUCATIONALOBJECTIVESClinicalguidelinesarestatementsincludingrecommendationsintendedtooptimizepatientcare.Beingbasedonsystemic reviews,guidelinesbecomeoutdatedasnewevidence ispublished, sorequiringaconstantreassessment.Accordingtoarecentreview,1outof5recommendationsareoutdatedafter3years(GarciaLM.CMAJ2014;186:1211–1219).Based on this concept,Venous-lymphaticsWorld International Network Foundation (vWIN) isorganizing international chapter meetings where welcoming different sessions dedicated todifferent guidelines analysis. Since one of the vWIN aims is the involvement of youngergenerations, thecurrentguidelineswillbepresentedbyunder40yospeakers fromallovertheworld.Atthesametime,since1outof5recommendationsisoutdatedafter3years,5socalled“Masters”persessionareinvolved.Mastersareworldrenownexpertswhowillcriticallyanalysethe guidelines, with the hope that at least one of them will identify the 1 out of 5 outdatedrecommendation.Adocumentincludingthesumupofthemostrenown“masters”brainstormingwillbesubmittedtoanindexedjournal.Evidence-based Innovation isanothermilestone invWINfoundationvision.For this reason, thesessionsareenrichedalsowith the latestscientificdataondifferent topics.Considering thetopqualityofthefaculty,thesedatawillbepresentedinfewminutes,leaving30minutesforheatedandproductivediscussiononwhat’snewonthefield.Inparallelsessions,hands-onactivities,instructionsforusersandinnovationsfromtheworldwillberunbythemostrenownexperts.Lastbutnotleast,consideringthatinternationalteamworkisinthesamevWINfoundationorigin,sessionsdedicatedtothebestinvestigationsproducedbythedifferent internationalscientificsocietieswillofferthechanceforaglanceatwhatthedifferentcontinentsarefocusingon.Thesamenetworkingwillbefurtherfosteredthankstoflightstipendsgivenasawardtothebestunder40yoscientificpresentations.Inconclusion,thevisionistobringthe highest scienceupon the highest ItalianAlps,where gliding on the guidelines all together,duringscientificallyandsociallyenjoyablevWINterdays.
