CROSS COUNTRY On Thursday, October 22nd, in glorious weather, all students participated in the
school cross country. The Grade 3 to 6 students ran around Meyer Island and
along Camp Street, followed by another lap of the island where they then
crossed the finish line to great cheers from the rest of the students. The
Foundation to Grade 2 students did a lap of Meyer Island, again passing the
finish line with enthusiastic encouragement from the sidelines.
It was very pleasing to see every student give their best and complete their
course. All students should be very proud of their efforts on the day.
Congratulations to the winners
from each grade: Foundation –
Darcy, Grade 1 – Max, Grade 2 –
Ellie, grade 3 – Lithil, Grade 4 –
Elijah, Grade 5 – Daniel and Grade
6 – Cameron.
PRINCIPAL’S AWARDS: This week’s Principal Award recipients are Isaiah, Larou,
Joshua, Ellie, Marty, Anna & Evie.
Well Done!
BENDIGO BANK Lamb PROJECT: The Grade 6 students of St Mary’s and the
Donald Primary School are busy decorating
one of the sheep family which will be
permanently displayed on the footpath in
front of the Bendigo Bank.
This is a special project which hopefully forms
part of the Grade 6 memories of 2020!
The Grade 6 students each decorated a
section of the lamb in any way they wanted.
Jaya chose the colours of the four houses of
Hogwarts as she is an avid Harry Potter fan.
Delilah used her favourite colours of blue and
green to blend a delightful backdrop, adding
snowflakes to symbolize her love of winter.
Ethan depicted the Richardson River, an
iconic local landscape which he loves, and
he enjoys time in the outdoors.
Cameron drew a geometric design signifying
his love of art, drawing and design.
The students are congratulated on their
efforts. Their designs will also be displayed
inside the bank as drawings.
Keep your eyes open for a family of sheep
appearing outside the Bendigo Bank in the
near future.
Upcoming Excursions: Wednesday November 18th
Halls Gap Zoo
Tuesday December 15th
Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement, Pyap Paddle Steamer and
outdoor swimming pool
STUDENT DRINKER BOTTLES: With the weather warming up it is extremely important that ALL students have a drinker
bottle with them every day.
We are seeing an increase in students not bringing
a drinker bottle each day and, while we have water
available for students, we feel that as an environmental
conscious school, bottled water should be a last resort for
students.
Could you please make sure that you send a named
drinker bottle with your child every day.
